OK, so after a day of 30 minutes of yoga first thing in the AM (btw, my set up is this: I wake up, it is dawn-ish. I wash my face, turn on my laptop, and put on trippy yoga-ish music and set it up so I can look at my wallpaper, which is a picture of a Hibiscus blossom I took in HI. I open the back door and the living room window for as much exposure to the forest valley of trees that is my view

I then do my practice in my jammies. I am facing North.) and then running 45 minutes on the sunny beach for my lunch break, I am full of energy still. Lawrd only knows how! In Ayurvedic medicine (the oldest continously practiced system of medicine on the planet, dating back to the pre-vedic period of 5000 BC.) I am the Pitta type. Sigh. In Western Astrology I'm a double fire sign (Leo, Sagittarius rising). See why I need Yoga? Even after yoga I'm superduperhyphy

I'm working on the negative imagery right here with the prescription for a Pitta type. However, since I am somewhat lactose intolerant, I don't like #1, and I also give a big thumbs down to avoiding chili and cayenne. And although I love spicy food, I have toned it down a bit. I will still eat sandwiches with habaneros sometimes....I
like peppers that make me cry
1. Dairy. Milk, butter and Ghee are good for pacifying Pitta. Reduce yogurt, cheese, sour cream and cultured buttermilk (their sour tastes aggravate Pitta).
2. Sweeteners. All sweeteners are good except honey and molasses.
3. Oils. Olive, sunflower and coconut oils are best. Reduce sesame, almond and corn oil, all of which increase Pitta.
4. Fruits. Favor sweet fruits, such as grapes, cherries, melons, avocados, coconuts, pomegranates, mangos, and sweet, fully-ripened oranges, pineapples and plums. Reduce sour fruits such as grapefruits, olives, papayas, and unripe pineapples and plums.
5. Vegetables. Favor asparagus, cucumbers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green leafy vegetables, pumpkins, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, okra, lettuce, green beans and zucchini. Reduce hot peppers, tomatoes, carrots, beets, onions, garlic, radishes and spinach.
6. Spices. Cinnamon, coriander, cardamom and fennel are all right. But the following spices strongly increase Pitta and should be taken only in small amounts: ginger, cumin, black pepper, fenugreek, clove, celery seed, salt and mustard seed. Chili peppers and cayenne should be avoided.
