Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and would love any advice you could give me! Some background: I am 28 yrs old, 5'2 and currently weight 143 lbs. About 3 weeks ago I decided to make a healthy lifestyle change (not a diet, this needs to be something I can live with forever). I have been eating much better than I have in the past and am working out 3-4 times a week. I don't know that much about nutrition and dieting, so I would love some feedback on my routine:
8-9:00ish- Breakfast. 2 egg whites and a vitatop or oatmeal
10-11:00ish- Snack. Small amuont of grapes or an apple. Sorry I don't measure food, but it is probably a handful or two of grapes and the apple is a large fuji.
12:00- Lunch. Romaine with salmon, either blackened or grilled. If blackened it is not prepared with butter or oil, just the seasoning. Light raspberry viniagrette dressing. Sometimes I also add a side of steamed veggies.
3:00ish- Snack. Vitatop or 10 wheat thins and a light laughing cow.
6:00-7:00- Dinner. I don't cook so I feel like this is where things might get bad. PB&J on whole wheat (sugar free jelly) with a glass of skim milk. Or a boca burger or chicken pattie on whole wheat roll. When I am very lazy I will eat a Smartones Mac and Cheese, but I do this once a week max.
8:00- I don't always have a snack here but sometimes I do. It is either a 100 calorie yogurt, vitatop, or some wheat thins and laughing cow.
The only beverages I drink are water and tea (no sugar). I also have 2 glasses of wine a week. On Saturday my boyfriend and I go out to eat and I pretty much eat whatever I want them (within reason). As I said before this is a lifestyle change, so I don't want to deprive myself of anything. Everything is ok in moderation.
Anything I should do to improve my daily eating habits?
