Hello All, my name is Terema, I am a proud mother of seven. I recently gave birth to my 7th child October 24th, and for all of you that are wondering, yes I am done. I just recently came back from my six week check up with a blood pressure reading of 168/108. I have never had high blood pressure unless it was at the end of my pregnancy, but this was different. Six weeks post partum, and its still high???Instead of wondering where I went wrong and feeling sorry for myself, I decided to do something about it. First theres alot of things to consider and where do I start first?? By the time I was two both of my parents were dead(unrelated to health issues) I would like to be around to watch my children grow into adults, and hopefully one day watch my grandchildren grow up. I am 5'3 and weigh approximately 185 pounds, 13 of which is just in my chest. I would like to make this a lifestyle change. The stress level of my everyday life is soaring through the roof. I know this may have alot to do with the blood pressure levels also. Things are not going so great with my husband and this causes alot of arguing and just plain anger on my part. Right now is time for me to make a change, but its going to have to be small changes, because there are so many things that need to change, I can't risk putting my body in shock. last week I cut out soda, and so far this has been the easiest change.I have gone about 3 weekes without any type of alcoholic beverage, and for me that is an accomplishment and a daily struggle.Especially during these very stressful times. I have been drinking more water, apple and cranberry juice. For snacks I eat cottage cheese with peaches, and dinner usually consists of salad with soup or 3 oz of lean meat. oh and breakfast is either oatmeal or honey nut cheerios with a banana, orange juice and milk. I know this is not an ideal weight loss plan, but I have to make small changes or else I will fail. My big problem is that I love the super duper fattening foods, particularly anything with loads of cheese. So as far as eating healthy I'm trying to start with the semi healthier choice I prefer. Maybe someone out there can give me some tips, and motivation to continue on this struggle to lead a healthier lifestyle,I really wish someone could givel me some will power!!!!!
