Couch to 5k anyone?

how does everyone keep track of the time when they are doing this? stopwatch? something else?

I'm doing this program too. When we started (my boyfriend and I are doing the program together) we were just counting in our heads. Not ideal I know, lol!

Now we have bought a stop watch. But I still count in my head whilst I'm running, as I find it helps me pace myself. I start counting shortly after we have started the stop watch, and my counting is slower than every second. For the last 3 runs we have been jogging for 90 sec, and I never get anywhere near 90 in my head before it's time to stop. I like to have some idea of how long I have left to run and I am always surprised when it is time to stop already!

I did my first session yesterday afternoon. I was very surprised at my success. I've been sitting on my butt doing nothing physical for about 4 years now. I didn't think there was any coming back from that. I stretched out like I used to when I did run all the time. I did my 5 minute warm up. Then I started running. The first 60 seconds wasn't bad, but I started really feeling it about halfway through. haha.

I did have to push myself, but that made the victory all the sweeter. When I was doing the cool down walk back to my house, I couldn't stop smiling. It really felt great to stretch out and accomplish something. I forgot what that felt like. Now it's reawakened and I just wanna do more! So, not only does this program work, it's addictive! haha. I recommend this to anyone. Sure, I may have only done one session, but I can't wait to do it again. That's a big change in attitude for me when it comes to working out over the past 4 years.

Give it a try! You'll love it!
