confused with bent-over row?

ok they way I've been tought to do a bent-over row was in that reched book I keep telling you guys about I'm bout to just throw it away but in the book it told me the way to perfom a bent-over row was to do the following:
1-grip a dumbell in your left hand
2-place your right hand and right knee on the flat bench
3-keep your left knee slighly bent and your back flat throut the exercise
4-draw the dumbell upward toward the lower ribs, keeping your elbow close to your body on the way up
5-peuse in the upper position for a moment then slowly lower the dumbell back down till your arm is fully extended
6-perform a set on left and a set on the right

but when I was reserching and trying to become less of a noob I came across this site and its basicly showing that a bent-over row is not performed useing a flat bent so am I doing this bent-over row the right way or are they just 2 differnt ways you can do them? here is the URL link to wich I found this out

What book is it? That exercise is a standard DB bent over row. Most people will show you a barbell bent over row.

that kind of bent over row leaves alot of room for jerking around to get the weight up. Personally, I like the barbell kind. But unilateral exercises are cool too.

The NROL has a nice db bent over row in which you don't brace yourself, you put one hand behind your back and row with the other. You might want to check it out.

pretty much all bent over rows leaves alot of room for jerking. with the BB people usually use their lower back and jerk the weight up. With the DB they usually rotate at the hips or shoulders. You just have to be diciplined and only let your arms move.
