confused: I can't get sore anymore

I don't know if this is good or bad or right or wrong, but I can't seem to get sore anymore. Balls out sprinting in an interval workout is the only thing that does it, and it's not real bad. Just like last night... I can only do 12 chin-ups before my muscles give out and I can't get any more up at all. Well, I did 3 sets of those and felt like I was going to blow up afterwards. I never do chin-ups. The most I've ever done in one day in my life is 17 and that was over half my life ago back in high school, and the last time I did any at all was like 2 months ago and I only did like 10 on a jungle gym at the park. Yet, I do 36, and wake up this morning and I'm totally fine. I don't understand why I'm not sore as hell? I notice stuff like this in similar situations alot. Back in the day this would have about killed me. I understand that I'm in better shape now, but when I'm hitting something hard that I don't normally hit, just seems like I should get sore, and more importantly, afterwards I don't feel like I've done as much.

You shouldn't be sore after working out. Thats not the sign of a good workout. You should only be a little stiff.

jman is right (and earns some rep)

soreness should only occur when the body isnt' at all ready for the workout you give it...meaning only new trainees should be 'sore'.

sore is a subjective word...painful soreness means you did WAY too much...and is why I have new trainees start with just 1 working set per body part the first week...then gradually build up.

stiffness, at most, is what you should feel as part of DOMS. That's normal hypertrophy damage, and heals quickly. painful soreness takes days, if not a full week to subside (and that's assuming you didn't tear something/actually injure yourself).
