Can I just be really blonde here: whats the difference between static and dynamic? I stretch after working out, it defo. makes the difference as on the rare few occasions when I thought I didn't need to/didn't have the time (gym closing) or forgot a stretch, the next day trying to work out is stiff and at worse, painful.
I base alot of my stretches on yoga poses although I do the obvious calf/quad stretches.
One heel over the edge of a step, then next same pose but with bent knee/lowered thigh, swap legs.
Quad stretch: heel to but, knees inline,
Cobbler pose: (sitting down back straight feet soles fully touching each other, knees on the ground, ankles and feet also on the ground then reach forward,)
Next legs straight palms flat on the floor, yoga influence -but with trainers on!),
Each different stetch ranges from 40 seconds to 2 minutes long). If I miss one out, I do notice the difference in terms of stiffness the next day. (I also do arm stretches)
Am I doing this right? is a dynamic stretch anything different to what I am doing?
