Complete chest development without weights

What is to be done to develop your chest completely without the use of weights or any other equipement? I have been doing push ups since the past couple of years(and I think it has been having no effect since quite a while now) and though the chests have improved quite a lot compared to how it was before starting on this ..it is still not fully developed. After a bit of time after the workouts when it goes back to its normalcy it loses its firmness ..so it looks bad in tight or semi tight clothes. So is there a way or will I have to resort to benchpressing et al?

You can do push-up variations. Google it and try some out. To get a bigger, more devoloped chest, you're probably going to have to use some kind of weight. You don't HAVE to bench press, per say, you might instead opt for cable flies, dumbell bench (I guess you might end up doing it) and so on.

But the variations will probably do for now.

Take your arms and spread that out to the side more and more, that will do it. I'd say at least get some weights and do butterflies. You can do them laying flat on the floor-One dumbell in each hand, arms straight out, perpendicular to the body, and keep your arms straight as you pull them both up and touch the dumbells together, or get close anyway. Butterflies are much more focused on the pecs, rear deltoids too.

wide pushups, get someone to sit on your upper back, wear a weighted vest.

Basically, your body has reached full potential for the weight (body weight) being used. Only way to make it start growing again is to increase weight...adn the easiest way is to start using free-weights and an adjustable flat/incline bench.

Thanks for all your advice guys. Another thing, can bench presses be done on any flat surface like the floor or a bed or is the bench a must? And how good are pull ups for the chest?

Yes, you need a bench for bench press. Pull ups is mainly for biceps/triceps depending do you use over-or underhand grip.

Pull-ups are not for working your triceps.........at all. Pull-ups are for working your back (lats) and you also hit your biceps at the same time.

I think there is a main issue that is being skipped here. For some reason you are focused only on your chest muscles at this point which is the wrong way of thinking. The muscles in your body are meant to work together. Just doing chest exercises is not going to get you very far. Your chest is going to develop in conjunction with all the other muscles in your upper body. Your chest is not going to develop if your back muscles and shoulders and triceps are ignored.

My advice? Stop focusing on building only your chest and your chest will grow.
