coming off low-cal. diet???

OKay, I just joined this board, and need some help. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere!
I'm coming off a low-cal. diet. Basically it was 100 day contest prep. diet, reducing cals. 300 a day every ten days. I'm at the bottom now, 1,000 cal/day. I know this may sound extreme, but like I said it's a contest prep diet for cutting up, and yes, it did work, without sacrificing too much muscle.
So my question is...does anyone have experience with adding calories back in to a diet after a low-cal. period? I'm looking to get back to a good maintenance diet of around 2200-2500 cal./day. I'm 6 foot, and right now 178lbs. (but that's pretty lean for me). I don't just want to jump back up in calories and "spill over" and suggestions???
Thanks guys,
-Carl

I don't have any experience, but I do know that you have to up your calories slowly to avoid weight gain. I would try adding 100 calories/day, see how that goes, and then start to add 200-300 calories/day. Just remember to do this all in moderation to avoid any fat gains.

Idunno. The day after my trainer (a champion bodybuilder) finished with the competition season, he pigged out on ice cream, oreos, and hamburgers - in that order ;)

Of course, it's best never to throw your metabolism out of whack. We lack experienced bodybuilders on these forums, I think, so hopefully someone with some experience can come along and field this.

thanks...

I been trying to find this answer for a while now (anticipating eating again!). I have heard elsewhere that 200/week may be a good timetable for adding back in. I really don't want to gain much fat, as I like the definition I've gained.
