Cold weather workouts?

Ok, Thanksgiving is coming up, and the little workout center I go to is going to be closed Thursday and Friday, and then Saturday and Sunday, as always.

I've got nothing at home. No machines, no weights. Not even a jump rope, and no stores to get them (I'm in a town of 3,000...severely lacking in stores).

So I normally wouldn't worry, because my initial plan had been to go to the track, jog/walk a couple of miles and maybe run, or walk up and down, some bleachers. Until the weather report this morning. My part of Texas, yes, Texas, is expecting freezing temperatures, rain and/or a little snow. Whoo hoo, because I like cold weather...but BOOO! because I may not be able to work out.

What can I do, at home, to get a decent cardio workout? The weights I'd be lifting Friday may have to be skipped, but I really want to work up a sweat doing something. Any ideas?

Sweatshirt and Sweatpants, Mindi!!!

If you dig on the cold weather, sweat it up and hit the track. Working out in cold temperatures can be REALLY refreshing.

Or, if you are completely against working out outside, and have someone to work out with you, I can share a partner workout that all you need is a towel to do. It won't be a cardio workout, but lord will you sweat if you do it right.

Very true, James....I think I'll hit the track, as long as it isn't raining!! I think it's not supposed to rain 'til Friday, so I can make it Thursday morning before I leave for the family Thanksgiving, then sometime Friday between showers...

Well first of all you should really try warm clothes. Actually I really like to go jogging when it is cold outside. The air is so refreshing and you don't start sweating at once. But if you don't like it you might to something like pilates. On of my friend told me about this sport a few days ago. I don't really like it so much but maybe you do. You should try it out!
