Clothing and it's relation to training...?

Hello everyone. It was really cold this morning, so I decided to put on a sweater.

Then it hit me. I put it all in this word equation that I will make up in this instant to be funny. :D

More clothing = more insulation = more heated muscles = better gains (?)

Is this true at all? It seem's to make very good sense. Because the muscles and body is hotter, it will make you sweat more = burn stuff more efficiently and faster?

Does this hypothesis have any truth to it?

nope, no truth to it at all.

people used to jog in 'sweat' suits that made them sweat more, to lose excess water weight before a competition weigh in (think wrestlers, body builders, boxers)...but it's just water.

Ahh crap. So wait, does this mean if I jog in sweats it's bad? Because it's going to be cold outside soon..... :(

as long as you stay hydrated, there's nothing wrong with sweating extra. when i say 'sweat' suit, I'm talking about one that seals at the ankles and wrists, and is not made of cotton. actually have a rubber like lining, turning it into a mobile exercise sauna. not a run of the mill fleece type sweat pants/jacket combo.

those same people would also occasionally pass out from heat exhaustion. there's no benefit to working out warmer.

Yeah, My mom used to do that. We would go jogging and when we were all done and cooled down we would go in the car back home. The car was HOT, and she wouldn't open the windows. I was like this really can't be good.
Then it clicked into me, your only losing your water when that happens. This could deyhrdate you really quickly.
So overall I would go out in a long sleeve t shirt and maybe a sweat shirt. But don't go out in a coat...lol
