OMG...This is soooo good! You'll think you're eatin' a no-no pastry! :D

Per Serving: 108 cals - 4 g.protein - 1 g. fat - 23 g. carbs - 4 g. fiber

{The above will change up some depending on what kind of pita pocket you buy.. Mine is lower in carbs and higher in fiber!}

I used 'real' whole wheat pita bread.

From The Biggest Loser Cookbook:

Cinnamon-Apple Breakfast Pocket

*Preheat toaster oven/oven broiler

Place the pita half on a small non-stick baking sheet

Broil 30-60 sec. per side, until just toasted

Carefully open the pocket and spoon in 2 Tbs. of fat free caramel apple or apple turnover yogurt inside

Add fresh chopped apples inside - Enough to fill up the pocket

Take equal amounts of cinnamon/splenda and mix well..

Dust the inside of pocket lightly w/mixture.

Place back in broiler to heat through. Watch closely so it doesn't burn.

Serve asap..

*I lightly sprayed one side of the pocket with ICBINB spray and dusted with cinnamon mixture and then placed in broiler for the last step.

YUMMO!

:drooling: It truly tastes like a pastry!

such good pitas

okay, i have to say this is my first post and the first thing I thought about was how good the honey wheat pita would be using this recipe. the only brand i know is kangaroo pita, which is probably the best.

there's a brand called Joseph's - not sure what market's they sell to though -that's a flax and whole grain pita - it's under 80 calories per loaf and has a ton of fiber -and tastes good too... all pitas are definitely not created equal... some are incredibly high in calories...

Forgot to mention that today I did this:

*I sprayed a small sauce pan with ICBINB spray and cooked the chopped apples a minute or two..I lightly sprayed apples and then dusted with cinn. mixture - stir - remove from heat -

Continue with recipe steps..

Even better! :D

So many thanks for this recipe!! I tried it last night and it was absolutely delicious!!!!! couldn't find the yogurt but i found the pita (thanks Mal) and i substituted jello sugar free caramel pudding.!!! WOW!! And it came to like 80 calories total!!!
I am totally going to try this with bananas too!!
Hajni

bananas, on a pita, sprinkled with a bit of brown sugar, and then put under the broiler (or toaster oven) til the brown sugar bubbles - is insanely good - call it pita banana brullee - and serve with a bit of vanilla yogurt drizzled over the top.

Yer so welcome!

Oh man, the ways you can have this!! :drooling: :drooling:

lol
