Hiya everyone, I was thinking of having a break from my diet on Xmas eve, Xmas day, Boxing day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.....do you think this is a good idea? I have got family parties to go to...and I know people will not understand...they will just think Im being boring..or it will cause arguments. I know I can get straight back on track !!! So what do you think...a good idea...or...bad idea????? Mandie xx

I personally am just bringing a 8 oz grilled chix breast, and some veggies. Why break my diet for someone else? If they get upset I am trying to better my lifestyle then they dont understand. Don't use excuses to break your diet.

Make choices

It seems as though there would be some healthy choices... vegetable trays, steamed veggies, turkey or other lean meats... you don't have to pack a brown bag lunch but make the most of what you have. If people look down upon you for valuing your health, then it is them with the food and body issues, not you.

I agree with everybody else. I think you'll find that people will be so busy talking and carrying on that they won't pay any attention to what you eat. I've already had one birthday party to attend since I started making changes, as well as a work Christmas party, and nobody blinked. If you're selfconscious, just don't make it real obvious. Don't go announcing that you'd like that extra piece of cake - just go get yourself a bottle of water instead. And if, after a 20 oz bottle of water, you still want the piece of cake, split it with someone.
