Christina (Smurf's) Diary

Thanks for the input guys :) Yeah I think I agree about the 7 hours. I'm going to do my best but I have a feeling its going to be more around 5-6 hrs some nights :/ Thats a great tip about the jumping jacks squats and lunges in the bathroom! I'm definately going to try this out. I've got my eating on track this week i'm soooo proud of myself on that :D But the water thing, some days I drink lots and others I forget. I can really see now how very important drinking water is for weight loss, not only does it make my body feel better but it makes a difference in the results on my weigh in. Its funny how when I drink alot of water for 2 days I drop a lb or more but when I dont I gain it back. Im really hoping for bigger #'s this week. Atleast 2 lbs. Thats my goal, lets see if I can kick that goals ass! I'm already down 1 lb from the weigh in on tuesday. It seems that I always drop the weight for the next weigh in within the 2 days after my last weigh in. Weeeird lol

You too, huh? My weigh days are Friday, but I jump on the scale a lot during the week. It seems like I lose weight on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, but then nothing the rest of the week. And the really weird thing about that is I do most of my exercising on weekdays. o_O

Keep it up, you're doing great!

That is weird. Im wondering now if the weight I am losing is actually fat or is it water? Im confused about how much u need to lose before u actually start to lose fat weight.

Well, I wouldn't worry about it because everything you're doing is a step in the right direction. Even if it starts out as water weight, it'll eventually be fat that you will lose. So just keep on going! No matter what if you put in the effort you will lose :)

Water is very important! I think maybe the days you don't lose weight because you're not drinking water is because when your body needs water and isn't getting it, your body will retain the water that you have. If you keep yourself hydrated, the body won't need to retain water. I know I need to drink more myself. Some days are harder than others to remember, but I'm getting better... slowly... but improving!

Its been a while since I've written in my journal. Mostly due to work and no time. Last week I actually gained a pound. :cuss: I can't believe how upset I was over this. I really beat myself up over it. This week I think is going alright. Im extremely extremely grumpy to the point I can't even stand being around me. Probably because I have to wake my butt up at 3am to get ready and be at work at 5am and then work in an extremly stressful environment. I went to the gym 2 days ago and was on the eliptical for an hour and a half. Ive never been on it that long in my life. I just had so much angry frustrated energy to burn. The only reason I got off of it was because my body was screaming dont overdue it. Man was I sore the next day

My diet is all over the place this week. Mostly because its my time of the month and my crappy work schedule. It just seems that nothing is satisfying me. Everytime I eat it makes me angry. Its like I need comfort food and I dont know what to eat to make me feel better. Im so dehydrated. Im drinking water but it just seems like it isnt enough. I've got constant headaches, i'm dizzy, tired, irritated, thursty, hungry and flat out miserable. I think I really need to invest some time into learning how to cook healthy and spice it up a bit, because it seems that I'm just making the same things all the time. Not that I dont like it but I'm craving things like pasta with alfredo sauce. And I know if I make it I will go nuts and eat the whole amount that I make because I literaly have no self control sometimes when it comes to pasta. Maybe I've restricted my diet a little to much and my body is missing what its used to. God knows its seen more vegetables in the last month and a bit than its seen in the last year :S I have some cookbooks on healthy food but I'm just not finding a good variety of things that I like. If anyone knows of a good low fat cookbook that has fairly simple things to cook I would love the suggestions or even some suggestions of things that you enjoy that maybe I wouldnt think of.

Anyways this rant is over now lol. Hopefully this week isnt a plus week. Thanks for reading

Hey, we have internet again! I haven't been on with the whole moving thing and then getting a cold.. BOO! I went up too during the whole process with no time to exercise and eating out because a lack of a kitchen last week. So yeah, not good.

Sometimes I feel that way too where I'm craving something not good for me and don't know quite what it is! Last time I made pasta I measured out one portion for me and one for Johnny and only cooked that. I also measured out the sauce. So if you only make enough for one serving then you won't be tempted to go for leftovers since there won't be any! That's what I realized I had to do if I made pasta otherwise temptation would get the best of me. So you could try something like that.

As for cooking low fat food, I'm sure you can find tons of stuff on the internet. I have a bunch of company's coming cookbooks (healthy ones) and I have one of the biggest loser cookbooks too. Or you could take a recipe you like and try modifying it with healther ingredients (like for chili, use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef... or for shepards pie, instead of potatoes maybe use yams or mashed up cauliflower (you can mash them to the consistency similar to mashed potatoes). Just simple things like that can make a difference. I know one time my grandma made a lasagna but instead of noodles she used thinly sliced zucchini and it tasted good still.

Hopefully that gives some ideas! Good luck! Oh and great job on the elliptical the other day, that's awesome!

Ya I think I'm going to have to do that with the pasta. I have one of the Biggest Loser cookbooks and i LOVE it. Its got easy to make food that tastes yummy. I didnt know there was more than one. Im gonna hit up the bookstore then. Ya I dont use hamburger anymore. And u know I dont even miss it. I actually love like the taste of ground chicken and turkey better than hamburger. Its funny u mention cauliflower mash becuase I just tried that last week and it was awesome. Expensive to make. I tried the Lasagne out of my biggest loser cookbook that had eggplant instead of noodles but I'm gonna try that zuchinni because I love zuchinni I eat it all the time. Thanks for the tips keep 'em comming :D

I did 3 days last week at the gym an hour or more on the elyptical and I lost 2lbs this week woohoo! :) And I'm actually feeling pretty good the last 2 days. So i'm going to keep it up and try up it to 4 days a week. Whoever thought I would actually ENJOY going LOL. Well maybe this means that I am truly ready to make a change in my lifestyle. No more trying. Now i'm doing. :)

Hey, just seeing how you're doing. I don't know if you'll be around, I'll text you and see! Hehe...

I got lazy again and need to start back up! So hopefully you're doing well and still going to the gym and eating better!

Well it's been a while since I've posted. I havent been working on my weight loss very hard. I go through spurts. I will excercise for a few days and eat healthy, then all of a sudden I will eat more food, not bad food but more in quantity and snack all day and feel sluggish and not excerice because I feel like crap mentally and physicaly. So I willl lose then not, and maybe gain a pound, then lose. Its a yoyo. I'm really starting to see that I am a food addict. I wont even be hungry and I will eat. I will tell myself not to and what will happen if I continue down that road and yet the next thing I know that second portion of dinner has been eaten :( I really need to learn how to curb this evil appetite. I find i do most of my eating sitting at my desk at work. It's like I feel the need to constantly be putting something in my mouth. I need to break this habbit before my butt breaks the chair hahaha

Hey! It is really hard. When I was doing well on my weight loss I just had to plan my meals and be disciplined about it. I also made sure I did some sort of workout around 5 days a week.

So the only thing I can say, is that yes it is really hard, but you just have to do it. It helps when you meticulously count calories. You realize, well, I can't eat that, I don't have enough cals in my day for that. Or sometimes when things were to hard to calculate, I'd be like screw it, I'm not eating it!
