Chris B's Weekly Weigh-in

Alright... I'm ready to do this.

Last summer I attempted to lose weight for my wedding. I lost *a little bit* -- I got down to 215. I've since grown to 228 (as of Monday 1/16).

I tried losing weight as a Christmas present to myself, but that didn't work either...

So, if I can't lose this weight for myself, I'm losing it for my wife. Her birthday is March 11th, so thats my first mini-goal. I'd like to be 210 by then and 185 by this summer.

Wish me luck! :D

good luck reaching your goal, you will get lots of help and advice here from a diverse group of people :)

Well I was really good for lunch today. Usually Friday's are the "go all out" day where we get all the stuff we're not supposed to have.

Today I got a grilled chicken breast, corn, and peach halves. I ate about half of each, and it was just enough. I'm not stuffed, I'm not hungry, I'm just satisfied.

Last night Jenny (my wife) and I went for a really long walk, a little over an hour. I'd like for us to continue walking most nights, but I also plan on going to the gym after work -- at least 3 nights a week.

After a long day at work, I usually don't wanna spend another hour at the gym, but I just need make it a part of my routine.

hi chris, welcome! good work on lunch, you did great to juse eat 'just enough', you listened to your body which i have to admit i often don't!

i agree, after a full day working, time at the gym seems like the least fun thing to do. but think how excited you will be when you hit 210 and you feel so much fitter and better for it. you'll get loads of support here, so you're off to a flying start!

Thanks lerato, I really appreciate it. I'm feeling great. 210 is my first mini-goal, ultimately I want to be 165 and fit.

Right now I've got alot of motivation and I really think that this forum can help to maintain that. :)

My mother is in town, so we went out today. I did my best to be good.

For breakfast I had a turkey and cheese crepe and a few roasted potatoes. My mother ordered chocolate chip and peanut butter pancakes for us to share. :( I had a couple of bites to not hurt her feelings...but what can do?

For lunch we went to a Cantina Laredo, but I was good, I got the rasberry chicken salad. This was really hard for me, because I LOVE mexican food. Of course, I did have a few chips and salsa... :(

So...overall, I did way better than I normally do on a Saturday, but still not perfect.

Alrighty, I'm down 3 pounds this week! I'm happy with my start, and I've still got alot of motivation.

Now if I could just get my butt to the gym. ;)

Yesterday went really well for me. For breakfast I had a Zonebar. At lunch I had a turkey sandwich and yogurt, and an apple around 3:00. And for dinner I had another turkey sandwich.

My wife and I also went for a walk after dinner.

It feels good knowing that I didn't have any hickups yesterday. I'd like to continue this trend and really see what happens! :D

Congrats on losing three pounds! Thats great! Made up for the salad at the Mexican food restraunt maybe? You did better than I would have. I love Mexican food. I am not sure I could have resisted the temptation as well as you have.

Its great that you are out walking every night. This Texas winter (more like spring) has been great for getting outside. Only I have a plant that is blooming early. I think all this warm weather has confused it.

Keep up the good work! :)

Thanks Fluff! Yeah, I think the hardest thing is resisting while going out -- especially when others are getting whatever they want. When I'm on a roll though, it feels good to make better choices.

Hehehe, I live in Texas too, and last night it was *cold* in Dallas. :p We had to walk in sweatshirts and heavy coats.

Well, I did alright yesterday...

I had my usual zonebar for breakfast and turkey sandwich and yogurt for lunch. For dinner, however, we went and had mexican. Heh, why is it that when I'm not on a diet I never get to go to a mexican restaurant, and now that I'm on a diet I've been twice in a week? :p

Anyways, I had some chips & salsa and a margarita, but I still got a salad.

I brought my gym bag with me, so I can go after work. We'll see how that goes. :)

One meal at a time, as they say..

Today was someone's birthday in the office, so everyone had cake and ice cream.

I usually partake in such things, but today I fought it -- I snuck out with nothing but a glass of water. :)

mmmmm margaritas are my weakness!!

another texan! howdy!

chris, sounds like your temptation didnt get the best of you! YAY! be proud, and keep workin it!

and yes this weather is weird, but Ill take it for walkin' weather. We are getting an 80 percent chance for rain this weekend. Ohh man, either its dry as a bone, or its flooding.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the support here! :)

I actually made it to the gym last night! I did 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of weights, and then I cooled down with some basketball.

I brought my gym bag again, so I plan on doing the same tonight. :D

And again, I really appreciate everyone on this board, just being here has really helped my motivation.

I made it to the gym two nights in a row! Holy cow! I can't remember the last time that's happened. :p

I did 15 minutes of cardio, then weights, then played some basketball.

After that, my wife and I went for a walk for about an hour.

I've gotta say, I feel so much better right now. When I'm eating all the time, I just gradually feel worse and worse.

I had a zonebar for breakfast, and lunch today is definitely going to be a test. Alot of us from the office go out for lunch of Friday's -- but I'm going to be good - I promise! :)

Great job on getting to the gym both nights! It was so hard for me to get back into exercising again, but now that I have been for the past couple of weeks ( i use a treadmill at home) its much easier to convince myself to do it.

I saw Zone bars at the store today. Well, I saw the box at any rate. Some lady was hovering over them, so I didnt get to take a closer look. Are they any good? Do they keep you satisfied until lunch time. I always wonder if I eat those, will I be starving again in an hour.

Keep up the great work. Have a great weekend. :)
