chest need help!

Hi everybody..I ve noticed that my chest is pretty asymmetric...the right side is more defined then the left one.....this might be coz I used to play tennis quite a lot during summers when I was younger...well...I m wondering if u guys can suggest something in order to reduce this asymmetry..

Plus, why do I feel workin more my right side while doin barbell bench press??

cheers

Have you tried dumbbell bench presses ? You would have the same weight in each hand, therefore your right side wouldn't seem to dominate the lift as much. As far as being asymmetrical, if you continue to workout consistently and follow a proper diet, your chest will even out over time. JMO Good luck !!!

Make sure you have proper form and are not going up faster on one side, even weights, even hand position relative to bar, all play part.

thanks guys...is it enough to work out my chest once a week or should I do more? can u tell me what are the best exercises in order to define it?

Same problem

I am about 14 1/2 years old and I see a lot of people who are more defined than me. Am I born this way, or can I change it? My chest seems to be very bony and doesn't have a lot of meat. How do I add more flesh and more definition to it?

14 1/2????

you really shouldnt be weight training to any serious level until you've grown a bit more.
you're chest will be bony and there will be 101 other things about you that will change over the next 5 to 6 years.

Yeah, but I see other 14 year olds who are better defined than me. Why is this, and can I be defined at least a little and how.

so I open again this thread coz i just realize I still do not understand what is the best position to keep while benchin!!
Should my feet stay on the floor or on the bench?
Should my back stay stick on the bench? What about the "arch position"?
Should I keep the same position of flat bench press while doin incline bench press and DB bench press?

Need this to be clear coz I work out at home...

thanks for any tips

yes, feet on the floor, flat, no arch position. Doesn`t matter if you are pushing barbells, DB, incline - its all the same basically. Stop worring so much

thanks...but with feet on the floor I think my back does not completely stick on the bench..is that a problem?

Plus..back on my pecs asymmetry..I think it is due to the fact that on my right side the "bone" is a bit more forward in respect with my left side...this makes my right pec seem more defined..can I do anything? does anyone has same kinda problem?

At the moment I work out pecs 2 times per week( at home) with:

-barbell flat benchpress 1x12, 1x8, 1x6
-dumbell bench press (same of above)
-push ups 3x as many as I can...

is it a good way of workin out my chest? I ll try to introduce also incline if a understand the position...what angle-inclination is the best?

Sorry for askin so many questions...I m not a BB I m just tryin to keep fit and gain little muscle while havin a lean body..

if your back isn't flat on the bench, its probably because you aren't keeping your core (abs) tight. tight abs should force the lower back to the pad, and prevents straining and injury.

to the 14 year old - those other 'defined' guys have simply gotten further along into puberty than you, and may also have more natural athletic prowess.

for now, stick to push ups, pull ups, crunches...basic bodyweight movements.
At your age, you're growing so fast it can be hard to eat enough to gain lean muscle mass until puberty slows down.

Do a weight where your back isn't arching, keep your hips stuck to the bench.

30 degree incline for incline bench, if you start going higher it starts working your shoulders quite a bit as well.
