I am new here but have a question for anyone who will answer! Has anyone actually transformed their body through weight training. What I mean is has anyone ever been quite a bit overweight (underarm flab that actually hangs down, a lot of extra fat on thighs and hips) and then made their body firm and tone. I have yo-yo dieted so many times and had bullemia 9 years ago and my body is paying for it now! I have extra fat in weird places for a 28 year old. My arms look like I should be in a nursing home. I am doing HIIT 3 days a week now and resistance training 3 days a week for 60 minutes a day. My tape is pretty good, it has a lot of lunges and squats, ect for lower and also an upper and abs portion. I have been using 10 pound weights for certain exercises and 5 pounds for other arm ones. Is that actually even considered weight training? I have pretty big legs, I am short only 5'4'' and it seems as though most of my weight is in the top of my legs. I do not want them to get bigger and the fat not go away!! I dont even know if that is possible I just had someone tell me that I should not be doing squats and lunges because it would make the muscle in my legs get bigger and replace the fat and would in return stay the same size only muscle. I dont believe them but thought I would type that anyhow!! So if anyone reads this and has any help or ideas please tell me!! I appreciate it.
