Cellulite, Stretch Marks, and Dimples!

So I was just wondering, I was thinking about ordering some products from Macys like creams, lotions, etc that are supposed to help reduce the appearance of some unsightly visitors. Have any of you tried these products, or anything similar. I've tried the coco butter but didn't think it really helped. Heres what I was looking at:

I've heard that no product will help with cellulite. It might reduce the appearance, but it's only temporary and you end up wasting tons of money on the products to try to keep up. The only way to get rid of it is to shed some pounds and even then, it's just something that a lot of people have and can't get rid of.

My stretch marks from a few years ago are virtually invisible now and I didn't use anything. It just happened.

I heard a doctor on TV (a real one, not one trying to sell anything) say that the difference between stretch marks and normal skin on a cell level is virtually none, and there's also virtually nothing you can do for stretch marks other than to have a procedure done.

I honestly don't believe these creams will really help.

Agree =( dont think any creams really work.. loose weight to hide them or else surgery (which I am against and scared shit of)

All of the "skin" issues you mentioned are actually from things that happen UNDER the skin. Stretch marks result when the dermis (the middle layer of your skin, between what you see and your subcutaneous tissue) tears for various reasons. Cellulite and the dimples you mentioned are all from fatty tissue that is also below the skin.

Serious doctors and people who aren't trying to sell you something will all tell you that rubbing something on the surface of your skin isn't going to fix something that's happening underneath it. Weight loss, time, and various plastic surgeries are the only proven options out there. There are some new laser techniques for stretch marks - you can just Google "laser stretch mark removal" and find loads of information about it.

I hope this was helpful. I wish there were some kind of awesome cream out there to help with these problems, but there isn't. There are, however, a lot of people happy to take your money for useless products.

P.S. FatGirlSleep - Ahahahahaha!

It's true that that the reason for cellulite dermis irregularity which appears normally by women only...there is an assumption that this is all because of hormones.
That is why diets and stuff are usually not effective. I think what could really help is fitness in combination with something that stimulates dermis renewal..based on some strong polypeptide, like dermatopoietin or smth :sifone:.

by the way, some good news...cellulite disappears with age
:reddevil: so it's not for long :))

Hello I was wondering about cellulite myself on another forum this is what I've gotten so far. Remember to take into consideration that everyone is different;

In this thread I am CanadianRunningGirl, and the lady with the factual advice is Piano Keys.

Remember to also check in with a Doctor if you want to make definite sure about safety and what not.

For those creams, I don't think they really do much. I hear they only hide things for a short period of time. Like they mask it, but I have never looked into it. I just don't think they could do anything, unless a person were to work from the inside out.

myself and a friend have actually had success with that nivea goodbye cellulite stuff. however once you stop using it they can come back, we both agreed. I've had some dimples not return, and I'm not sure why it works. however mine aren't very deep and for the most part didn't go away completely. if you have shallow not too bad cellulite I would recomend giving it a shot. it's like $9 but lasts a while.

I heard a doc on tv suggest that cellulite is also hereditary, and that if women in your clan are prone to it, than BAM! you're a member of the club. Dangnabit, why didn't I inherit amazing mathematical abilities instead of cottage cheese thighs???!:cuss:

ABBA
