Well. you guys are getting me at my beaking point. I weigh 363 lbs. And I tried to get help today through calling in response to an ad on TV for a clinical study and I got told that I was too fat. I hate being this way. I feel like a failure, I have tried Weight Watchers and failed 3 times. If I don't succeed at this I don not know what I will do.

My plan for the moment is to increase my water intake and to exercise more and to try to control my food intake. I am just at a point where I don't know how to get started. I really need support.

Howdy casey welcome... Think thats what gets us all here. With me it was when i saw myself at the mall in one of those mirrors you walk past. Then it was the picture someone took of me....... just take it one day at a time. Find a diet program that you think will work for you. someone around here has been on it or knows enough about it to try and help ya out with it........

Hi Casey!!! Great job starting a diary!! We've all been right where you are now. I was scared to death when i first started here 2 months ago but everyone is so nice - I'm sure you'll fit right in. ;)

^^^^These websites can help you set some goals and get you started with exercising. They also have great tools to help you track your water & calories. And they're both free!

The best advice I can give you is to ease into it. Make small changes at first. And remember that you CAN do this!!

Hi Casey! *hugs*
It sounds like you're down girlie, but don't be. I'm with pequin, start with small changes and small goals. If you set your mark too high you will become frustrated and want to give up. Your goal to increase your water consumption and exercise is good. Maybe taking at least one walk per week and working your way up, whatever works for you. Maybe just making sure you get breakfast every day.

One of my most favorite quotes is..."A journey of a thousand miles becomes with a single step." Don't distract yourself with the big picture...stay focused on the little steps that make up the journey. *hugs*

So nice of you to send out holiday wishes to everyone !!

Tell us what you're thinking about your new goals ?? We're listening :)

and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours also !!

Thanks,

I am trying to eat better and exercise more, but it is hard. My family is that kind of family that Food is used as a reward and more. So I am not supported much, especially since DH is a Chef and becomes concerned when I do not eat well.

Heya's Casey,
Welcome to the forum and goodluck to ya! Thanks

You can do it girl I feel like that alot but each day you succseed
you feel a little better.I am actually happy and have alot more
energy when I stick with eating healthy and exersiceing each day,
but as soon as I pig out on all the wrong foods and not exersice I
feel very bad and depressed so my point is take it 1 day at a time
and you'll notice you start feeling better.Have a gr8 holiday weekend,

Hey Casey!

Welcome to the site and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. I completely understand where your coming from. Support and motivation are always available here. I, myself, have tried to diet for years as well, but was never successful because I didn't have the support system I needed. I joined the forum over the summer and have lost a total of almost thirty pounds so far. It can be done girl, and I've learned it will be if you just stick with it. Just as eating incorrectly becomes a habit, inturn eating correctly will too in time. Remember, failure is not an option. Healthy is a lifestyle.

Good luck to you on this new found journey. We're all cheering for you, doll.

hi casey

one step at a time is the way i'm taking it. i started at the beginning of the month and had zero support to start with. it's taken time but people are slowly coming around to the concept (apart from those who dont want me to lose weigh  ) and the support is getting better - so much so that people are coming walking with me now too!

I'm lucky in that despite my weight i've always been active so regular exercise has been easy to slot into - if you're not as fortunate then you'll need to take things more gradually but with effort and will on your side and the support you can count on here, you will succeed in your goal.

keep it up - together we can all achieve our aims :)

Hi Casey!! Welcome!! I've also tried Weight Watchers and failed more than once. I just broke the fifty pound loss mark by "doing my own thing", based on a low cholesterol diet. You can do this thing. You have already decided to start, which is a big step!! We are all here for you!!

Ok in response to my Tag

1. I'm a newlywed.

2. I love to make jewelery.

3. I love to read.

4. I hate the word "Diet." I hate the way people judge me for my weight. I hate it when people make a big to do about what I eat. I hate when others make exercise seems like work instead of fun, like something I have to do instead of something I want to do.

5. I thank God everyday for friends like you guys!

Awww, aren't you a sweet heart! *hugs*

Btw, I posted my 5...thanks for retagging me, gave me a chance to redeem myself. My first 5 were quite depressing. :p :p

Hey Casey... welcome to your diary... Hang in there! You will get all the support you need here. Good luck with your weightloss!
