Cardio in sweats?

I was wondering if it would be dangerous to do cardio, either jogging, jumping rope, cycling or the elliptical while wearing sweats? I realize that wearing clothes to make your body warmer would raise your temperature and require you to drink a lot more water while doing cardio. I know wrestlers do things like this to make weight, even though I realize some of their methods are a bit sketchy health-wise.

Weird, I just had this conversation with a friend as we left the gym about 15 mins ago! I am no professional but from what we discussed, we see it as kind of pointless. It seems like it just makes people think they are losing more weight when really its just water weight that will come back as soon as you eat or drink. And maybe not the healthiest thing to do?? just my opinion. Its definitely used a lot for wrestling and stuff but as far as I know, not much help in the long run. Hope this helps, and Im sure others who know more about it will give more info :)

What ever floats your boat. What ever your comfortable with.

Just don't let your sweats slip under your shoes on the treadmill or that could be a quick painful fall lol

Don't do it. Wear sweatsuits if you are cold, but not to sweat more as you only lose waterweight - which you gain right back - but you risk dehydration. Wearing anything that makes you purposely sweat more (hoodie, rain coat, trash bags, whatever) is downright dangerous and should be banned by gyms.

very bad idea, putting on extra close to workout in.

maybe put them on before you workout while you stretch and warm up to help get your muscles warm for your workout but other then that very bad Idea.

I wear shorts and i wife beater or A shirt if warm out and if cold I throw a t shirt on over that.

But I do wear sweatpants and a hoodie over that into the gym that I take off before working out and put on immediately after if it is cold. You don't want to go out in the cold in t shirt and shorts after sweating real bad.

good luck and don't go trying any thing you see boxers/wrestlers do unless you are at an actual gym for it.
