cardio? before or after?

I would have put a search for this question but wasn't sure of a keyword to use.

I was wondaring during a workout involveing cardio and weights, when should cardio be done and for how long? My goal right now is for fat loss.

For the past month I have been concentrating on cardio. Doing a minimum of 30 minutes on the eliptical with a target heart rate of 155. Doing it 5 times a week. I've started doing weights after my cardio session. Useing lighter weights and high reps (getting my muscles used to weights and figureing out a routine). Next week i'm gonna start useing heavier weights to really give my individual muscles a work out.

My main objective will still be weight loss and cardio. I've heard cardio should be done after. if so, why?

ok than......does the intensity and length I do cardio effect my weight training or goal of fat loss? before or after weight training?

Yes, try to do 15-20 minutes of high intensity cardio at least 8 hours after your weight training or preferably on the days in between your weight training. Limit cardio to 2-3 days a week. Longer cardio sessions will burn muscle for energy.

For my ultimate goal of fat loss, should i be doing more of a full body workout on my weight training days instead of isolating muscles groups?

Yeah, you should be doing mainly compount exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench press, military press, dips, pull ups, rows. These will build up your overall body strength. Down the road a ways you can start adding a few isolation exercises for biceps, triceps etc..
