Cardio after weights, or Seperate day?

Hey everyone,

Upon stumbling on Men's Health cover model Gregg Avedon's website (, he has many sections, including workouts.

It states, that cardio should be done after you lift at least 3 times per week:

"After finishing up with the first half of your workout, you should have between 20 and 30 minutes left to play with. Use this time wisely, get your heart healthy, and burn some impact calories. What I'm talking about is cardio training! Personally, I like to stick with low-impact cardio training for less wear and tear on the body. This would include any of the step climbers, elliptical trainers, oscillating stairs, stationary bicycles, or seated rowing machines.

Don't be one of those people who only spend 10 or 15 minutes on a machine, then jump to another for 10 more minutes. Stick with one machine, do it for 20 to 30 minutes at a challenging rate, sweat it out, get your heart rate up, and when your done...your done."

Now Gregg's in amazing shape, and I want to lose this last bit of fat.

Would it be best to stay as I am now (cardio on off days of lifting) or will I burn more fat with the weight lifting/cardio after routine?

Thanks all,
-acg

Monday thru Friday i do one or the other, weekends i do both.

I don't think it can hurt to burn some extra calories with some cardio... of course, i'm no expert, and have some toning up to do myself, haha!

Nothing wrong a little cool down cardio, but it comes to this:

If you can do anything more than walk, you're not lifting hard enough.
