Weight-Loss Carbs Good?

I suggest a good balance of Protein / Carbs / Fat. Maybe a 40/35/25 or maybe a 40/40/20 ratio.

Good carbs of course. Stay away from the refined sugars and processed white rice and pasta and breads. Chooses whole wheat or whole grain options. Of course fiborous veggies and fruits.

Also, Should I be cutting fat too? not just calories?

25-30% of your calories should come from fat. You need to eat fat to lose fat. 1/3 from saturated, 1/3 from mono and 1/3 from polyunsaturated.
 
Balance is better. I don't eliminate carbs, but I do stop eating them in the afternnon to give my body time to digest them more efficiently. I work out in the mornings, so I just need the energy from the carbs for earlier rather than later in the day.
