Carbohydrates

Like many people who are overweight, I have an issue with carbohydrates. If I don't eat a certain amount of bread, rolls, etc. each day (which I'm sure is an above-average amount), my stomach does not feel satisfied. It is kind of like a carb addiction that I really want to get rid of. It's very frustrating. What can I eat in place of carbs to feel full and satisfied?

I'm 6'2'' and weight 220. I am not terribly overweight, but I would like to get under 200, and I figure limiting or replacing carbs in my diet would make it much easier for me to lose weight.

If you have a satiety problem, you'll probably need to increase the amount of water you drink, and switch out all (if possible) of your white refined breads with their whole wheat equivalents, but also cut down bread in general. You should probably also increase your intake of vegetables. The added fiber and water should help you feel fuller, longer. This is general advice without knowing your exact daily diet.

Carbs arent the cause of being overweight my friend. Its the calories in general. Feeling full will be easier achieved through eating proteins and fats.

I found that replacing white bread/rice/pasta/etc with the wholegrain varieties has resulted in me eating a lot less because they fill me up more easily and keep me full for longer.

I used to be able to eat 3x chees sandwhiches on white, now 1 tuna sandwhich on brown fills me up alot!
Try eating more protein, and add some nuts and other healthy fats too :)
Don't forget you can eat carbs, aslong as they're used up there's no problem, more of a problem if you starve yourself from them infact.
