Can't stop eating! - Newbie.

Hey, my name is Dee and I'm new here. I've always been pretty overweight...But now it's out of hand. In the past 2 years I've gained 96 pounds. I feel as though I'm at a total loss of control. I'm always telling myself that tomorrow will be a brand new start, but it never happens! I just can't find the motivation and I always give into temptation.

I've recently decided that maybe I should try eating about 5-6 small meals throughout the day instead of 3 bigger ones since I'm always hungry every 2-3 hours. I hope this works out, and I'm look forward to finding support on here. If you have any advice for me, feel free to let me know. I need all the wisdom I can get!
 
First let me say Welcome to the Forum.
You definately have come to a good place.
Here is my advice.
Don't wait to start tomorrow. Start right now!
Tell yourself that. No day is truly a loss if your willing to stop the behavior in its tracks.
Start a diary, make friends on the forum.
Just get the ball rolling and keep it rolling. And when it slides off the side of the track pick it back up and get it moving again.
You can do this if you stick to it.
 
Tomorrow is another day might have worked for Scarlett O'hara - but in the real world -today is what matters... you can do what you can do today.

Have you asked yourself what temptation you're giving into and why? I've seen it countless times with myself in the past and with others -- that if youput yourself on a very restrictive diet... then you really set yourself up for temptation because tehre's is so much that you "can't have" -

Lifestyle changes withreasonable calories are the way to go...

3 meals -5 meals - 22 meals - 2 meals -it really is up to you and your schedule and what works for you - but it's total calories consumed during the day that matter... not when they are consumed..

get yourself an account at or one fo the 100s of free sites on the web to keep track of calories -do spend some time reading te stickied threads and make yourself at home aroundhere. have fun and much success getting to where you want to be
 
You all are right! I'm going to get on the ball NOW, not tomorrow. If I keep waiting, it will just be a never ending cycle. I will start a journal at the end of the day to update my progress. Thanks a bunch! :seeya:

Now don't lose that motivation. Find some way to hold on to it.
And remember that no day is ever a bust.
Just start from right where you are at.
Go get 'em!
