Can you lose all your bodyfat doing solely resitance training?

Basically as above really,

I wandered if it was possible using just resistance i.e weights etc to lose most if not all of your bodyfat?

Thanks in advance for any comments?

hey man, if you lost all your bodyfat you would die, even before you reached 0 lol
but if u wana get really lean, say about 8% bf then your probably going to need to incorparate at least a couple of cardio sessions a week.

its all in what you eat. you could do it with only weight training, sure, if you manage to stay on a deflict that way.. but it would be hard.

Yes! And NO you don't need to do cardio to loose body fat.

Eating a caloric deficit reduces body fat quickly. Eating maintainence calorie levels while increasing muscle mass, slowly reduces body fat.

yeh sorry badshot i was really vague, but basically if you to lose bodyfat all you need to do is eat right and do resistence training, but if you wanted to get really lean then cardio will be needed, as this speeds the whole process up a great deal.

well evo, u must know better then me, but ive never seen a fat guy finish a marathon. i was just telling badshot to incorparate cardio because through me own experience a couple of 30 min cardio sessions a week were a great help in getting me lean. im no expert i can only comment on my experiences.

Yes, high intensity weight training can decrease BF as long as you have the right diet approach however adding cardio to the mix will produce faster results.

Cheers guys and gals

I had that question going through my head for ages, and dont worry slim jim I got what you were saying!

I do a session of cardio before my weights routine (tried to do it after and really sucked 3-4 mins max at 6 mph lol) mind you its only been 3 weeks since I started training again.

I appreciate all the feedback, my wife says shes noticing the difference in my apperence

i could be on to a good thing:)

Cheers again all

Paul

I agree every little bit will help, there was a research piece I saw where they put people on a 800 calorie liquid diet and have half do cardio and the other half do resistance training. The result: those that did resistance training lost fat, but no LBM, while the cardio group lost some of both.
