Hello.I am 19, weigh 185 lbs and am about 6 foot tall.I'm trying to get in shape and I really want to take it seriously because I want to look good for the summer. Two problems I have though are 1. That I like unhealthy food too much and 2. I don't execrise consistently enough. I have a membership to planet fitness and I was going 4 or 5 days a week for a while but recently have stopped going. I was wondering if someone could help me and give me a routine on how to lose weight. My area of main concern is my stomach. I would like to get thinner and get a nice tone to my muscles, I'm not asking to be a body builder. I just want a program that will get rid of my gut and turn it into a slim stomach maybe with some abs.
Thanks for the help!
Nick

Hey Nick,
Get your daily calories below 2,000. Everyday.

Acquire a taste for healthy food, by eating it. Seriously, when you start eating a handful of carrots for a snack rather than Snickers bar, you will develop a taste for it. Little by little only have good stuff to eat and not junk. I have just done this exact thing. At lunch I have carrots and I enjoy them. Food will change as an end in itself and becomes more of a function than entertainment. That is the way to get to less than 2,000 calories per day.

Can you do it.

There are ways you can enjoy the foods you like and still lose the fat. You will have to give in somewhere though. If you are going to eat unhealthy food then you definitely need to exercise more.

If you are not going to be exercising then you either need to adjust your food to fit your goals or you are going to continue to gain fat.

Its your choice, but it sounds like you want to make a change. I mean you joined this site and took the time to start this thread.

You are young and not terribly large for 6 foot tall. The exciting point to consider is that with you being the age you are now and being male, you are in an excellent position to hit the weights and gain lean mass fast and lose fat. Your testosterone will never be as high as it is right now. Every year from here on, you will be dropping your test levels. You should take advantage of this opportunity to really transform your body. It will be much harder to do it later on in life.

There is a lot of decent info *REMOVED* and in other pages there also that might appeal to you. Check out the food, exercises and articles pages there.

You really are in one of the best positions to enjoy success in this!
