I was wondering if any one could help me out with this. Someone told me that if I am on a 1200 calorie diet and if I workout and burn 300 calories that I should be taking in 1500 calories to make up for the 300 I burn. Does anyone know if this is right or not.

uh no i dont think so, not if your trying to lose weight! if you eat 300 more calories to make up for what you burned, your defeating the whole purpose. also your caloric intake for weight loss really depends on your height and weight. if your a guy, then 1200 a day is probably not enough. give us some more imformation please and we will try to help you out.

the simple key to lose weight is to burn more calories that you eat ... now, this is obviously not as simple as it sounds because everything you do burns calories ... but the idea is that if you continue eating the same thing that you normally do and aren't gaining any weight, then if you burn 300 cal during exercise, you should start to lose some weight.

Now this is just what I'm starting to do, but I'm not counting calories. For one it's jsut to tedious for me and plus as long as I'm eating the right amount of food I think it's fine. But as long as your eating heathy and seeing a difference in your image then I don't think you should be really concerned about it either. Just remember that fat loss is by burning more calories then you are taking in.
