Calories Deficit

Okay, I would like to take a poll to find out what general consensus is on calorie deficits. I was running a 2300 CD and hit a Plateau. So I talked to a nutritionist and she told me to eat more. I cut my deficit to 1700 a day and started to lose a little weight but not what I was at the beginning. So I pose the question to all of you. What is you calorie deficit per day?

How many calories a day are you currently eating"
Howmuch are you currently exercising?

How long have you been dieting
andwhat's your current weight/height/age/gender

If you read around this forum -the most effective method of overcoming a plateau is to eat at maintenance... and then cut back again.. so the advice your nutritonist is giving you is pretty solid.

2300 cd?

is that your calorie restriction per day!??

i am going for loosing 25 lbs by may 31st and my restriction is 1054. but on days I work out I burn 500 more which puts it at around 1500.

how are you burning so many calories a day? are you very overweight?

Calorie deficit = Calorie restriction

I was 255 pounds and I have lost 36 pounds since January 12th. I was averging 3.5 to 4 pounds a week at first with a 2300 calorie restriction. Then when I hit the 220's I stopped losing. I started eating more food bringing my restriction down to 1700 a day. I was just curious what other people have for their restriction/deficit.

Dont forget that your bmr is calories required were you to never get out of bed... spend some time reading around the forum - activity requries a lot more calories...

My Nutritianist figured out my BMR is 2200 and a total daily expenditure of 3600 calories a day. So I am at 1600 deficit.

Around 400-800. But this isn't an exact science. I don't know how many calories I burn when I exercise. I have no clue. I just use the Harris Benedict Formula and go from there.
