Butt erosion

So I am an endomorph. I am "apple shaped". I carry almost all of my weight in my middle. I have the quintessential spare tire. And what's not around my middle is on my chest. (DDDs baby, though they are shrinking, yay!) I have a very straight body with no defined waist, hips, or butt. Even at my highest weight I had great legs, and saggy pant syndrome from lack of a derriere. No saddle bags or junk in the trunk for me!

So when I lose weight, where does it come from first? My ass. My ass is slowly disappearing because of butt erosion. At first this wasn't so bad. I've never had a great butt, so the fact that all of my pants looked like "man pants" with a saggy butt wasn't a huge deal. And the fact that I no longer need to unbutton or even unzip my pants to get into them has made getting dressed a little easier. (Though the constantly hiking them up thing is starting to get old.)

But can I tell you how much it now hurts to SIT now that I've lost some weight? I have a desk job in IT. I sit ALL day long. Even with breaks every hour or so to get water or to walk around, my ass aches at the end of the day. And you can forget about me spending an longer than 15 minutes sitting down to eat dinner, as those wooden chairs literally feel like they are bruising my tail bone.

I know I can't spot reduce, so I am just going to have to tough it out and deal with the fact that my spare tire is going to be here for the long haul while my ass may simply disappear, but that doesn't mean I have to like it!

Any other apple shaped people have this problem? Should I buy a butt pad?

I have always had the opposit problem. Big butt. Back when I was younger it was fashionable to have a small butt and hips! Now I'm older It's big butts that are in fashion. Yep now I have the fashion butt. Too bad it didn't happen until I got older, and now it's becoming more like saggy butt. I always had problems finding pants to fit over my hips and butt because then they were too big for my waist.
Guess that just means we come in all shapes and sizes!

I loose my boobs and never my butt! not sure whats worse!

I would just get a cushion and plonk it on the chair!

I'm not an expert, and others may interject if what I say is stupid...but I would imagine you'd benefit from doing a lot of exercises that develop the muscles in your butt. This (I think) should help give you a little more shape, plus it would also (I think) give you more cushioning so that it doesn't hurt your bones when you sit down for a long time.

So get squatting, get lunging, get butt clenching....haha....see if that helps! And perhaps do a little research about the best ways to target those butt muscles, because really, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Best of luck!

Lyn - Now only if clothing designers would realize that and make clothes in a larger range of shapes and sizes. I'd spend a whole lot more money on clothes if I found stuff that fit right!

Wishes - I would love to lose my boobs. I'm so jealous. And I'm very seriously considering a pad for work. Maybe I'll get myself one for Christmas.

Seliwyma - I've taken a break from exercising at the moment (I just have way too much going on getting ready for my wedding right now) but before I was doing weight training twice a week and that included squats, lunges, and leg press. I plan to start it back up after Christmas, so hopefully that will help.

Blue I know how you feel. It's the no butt syndrome. My sisters suffer from it along with me. T.T My hips are actually the same measurement as my waist now. So I am shaped like a tube with boobs. If I had all my fat on my hips and butt I would look perfect right now. But nooooo I still have to lose before I have even a hint of a smaller waist.

Hmm.. I say pillow for the win?

Also, as you loose weight on the rest of your body, the pressure on the poor shrunken bootay will go down, which will probably make things easier on it.

I'm not sure.. maybe increased butt-bulge muscles will help? But I'd definately just get a pillow.

Clever that's a good point. I'll have to do some tests once I get smaller.

I'm working on increasing the butt muscles. It's just slow going.

Excellent!

On a side note, looking at the user CP for threads with new posts, seeing a thread titled "Butt erosion" made me go.. "WTF am I doing in a thread titled butt erosion" :)

Raven we have almost identical body types. I feel your pain. :-(

Blue do you have a bigger pic of yourself? This is kinda crazy but you look so much like my sister that I would really like to see more of your face. I just can't help but think wow our bodies are the same and here you look like my sister from what I can see.

Raven - This is not terribly recent, I'm down about 20 pounds from here, but it definitely looks like me. There are other more recent ones in that photostream, but I'm all dolled up so I look a bit different.
