Burning Carbs/Fat/Calorie Ratio

When we undertake physical activity am I right in thinking that we expend a combination of carbs, fat and calories?

To what sort of ratio do we burn these off? No doubt it depends on the nature, intensity and duration of the activity in question.

For example, if you were to run on the treadmill for 45 minutes at a moderate pace is there anyway of knowing more or less how much carbs/fat you are burning?

Well there are intensity levels that deem certain breakdowns from fat/carbs/protein. Rather then focus on that though you should focus on overall energy output. Fat burning zones, carb burning zones, doesn't really matter. Train for the proper energy output and EPOC (metabolism afterburn). The best instance of this is HIIT.
