brown rice

hi guys,
i have a question regarding brown rice if someone can help me out here. I am wandering is it OK to eat brown rice with grilled chicken and some black beans everyday as a lunch if my goal is fat loss. I personally thought this would be a great combination and it also tastes good so just wandering if i am on the right track. :)

Thanks guys :)

thats great and yeah i must say when u joined this forum the first time i did;nt have an idea what's good and bad and now due to the great help of this forum i have aquired quite a bit of knowledge about various things. Thank u all :)

well brown rice is better than white, grilled chicken is better than fried and black beans are yum aswell so should be alright

FYI - maybe one of the nutritionist or trainers on here could verify this ... i've read that instant brown rice is no different than white rice b/c when they make it so it is instant so its easy for us to make that it more or less takes out the part of the rice that makes brown rice good for us ... supposively only fresh made brown rice is good no instant ...

well i eat oat meal and white eggs for my breakfast, eat this brown rice with grilled chicken breast for lunch and sometimes eat a turkey sandwitch for my dinner. In between i eat fruits like bananas, apple, pear etc and cottage cheese and drink a glass of skim milk before goto bed. well regarding the instant brown rice i hope instant is good because thats the one i wat nowdays because i have no way to cook it. I have a room with no kitchen facilities and i have a microwave and fridge so i just microwave my instant brown rice :S:S:S. i hope instant is good i really hope because i have been eating it for quite a while now LOL. what do u guys say. :)

Thanks all :)

its true, instant isnt the best option. just like instant oats, the more processed the more it loses the goodness of it.

i see, so if it does'nt have hydrgenated oil in them will it be OK ( well not to say the best LOL) to eat em :), i am in such a dilema because i have no other way to cook the brown rice LOL.

Thanks :)

correct, hydo oils is the biggest neg for instant stuff, so if there's none in there your mostly in the clear. Why don't don't you cook your rice like a day or two before, bring it in a bag and warm it up with your chicken. I make breakfast bars, enough for 4 days. you could just make a weeks worth of rice one day, and take what you needed every day.

oh ok i got it. I will definatly check the label and see whats goin on. well the problem with me is that i dont have kitchen facilities in where i live. i am a college student and i just have a room to stay LOL. I have a fridge and a microwave to heat things and up and cool em down haha. I just get the grilled stuff from the grocery store. I have a really hard time picking things up from the grocery store haha. i go in there and all i see are junk stuff :). yeah so one optio n for me was to get like a hot plate but that was'nt possible as my landlords said i cant have a hot plate because of the risks associated with it. Any ideas what i should do in my case :).

Thanks

o thats right, well Ive never tried it before but you can cook organic B-rice in the nuker
Microwave Oven instructions:

Combine 1 cup rice, 2-1/4 cups liquid in 2- to 3-quart deep microwave baking dish with lid.

Cover and cook on HIGH 5 minutes or until boiling.

Reduce setting to MEDIUM (50% power) and cook 30 minutes. Fluff with fork.
-shoulda said that sooner hu?-
