Hello,

I'm a newbie to this forum, i'm a girl from the south of england, i'm in my early 20's and I'm overweight, but no longer obese! hooray! At my heaviest I was 218lb but now i'm 174lb, i'm not following any diet or exercise plan, just trying to be more active and eat better in general. Kinda plateaued a bit lately, so i thought I'd join your forum for some extra motivation. :)

Howdy Sponge! Congrats on your recent weightloss. That's great! Don't be discouraged by your plaeau. Just keep working at it and you'll get through it. Try the diary section (if you haven't already)- it helps to write things down. Good luck.

YOU GO!!!

You are doing a great job.. my advice for your plateaue is to kick up the diet a bit! literally :p

Try some indian food, lots of spice, lots of heat! low on the fats and saturated fat free (indian food is by nature, vegitarian).

Drink LOTS of water! like about 50% of your IDEAL body weight in ounces each day (sorry im an american still waiting for that 1990 switch to the metric system :p ).

Hi Uk From Ozz

Hi UK from Ozz........ You have done so well so far. Keep up the great work, whatever you are doing is working for you. All the best. See you around the forums.

Cheers Dearne ... thunder from down under.......:p

A fellow Brit

Hi Sponge,

I'm from Jersey, so fairly near you, though in weight terms we are far apart as I am heavier than you were when you began. I reackon that Indian food must be different in America than in England, either than or the LollipopKid was not talking about restaurant Indian food. British Indian food from restaurants is rarely vegetarian, and full of cream, butter oil, coconut milk etc.

I would like to be where you are in terms of weight, but I know I am at the easier end of the journey. The weight should come off me fairly quickly, and my motivation is high as it has not yet been tested. I think you have done so well to lose so much, and wish you success in getting to your goal.

Welcome aboard! By losing the weight you already have, you can see the differences it's made in your life. Great work on that, and keep it up. This is an amazing forum for support, and it's really helped me along in the short time that I've been a member.

This is one of those boards where if you feel down during a day, just come read some other stories that others tell.. your motivation will come right back!

hello and welcome! congrats on ur weight loss.. dont be demoralized and dont give up yea! im sure u'll find the motivation to continue ur weight loss in this forum.. just remember not to binge whenever u're frustrated (cos that's what i used to do lol).. just post any problems or questions u have and we'll all try to help! all the best to u =)

Hi there! Another forum virgin, also from the UK, Im from North London.
Well done with your weight-loss!.
Have joined to see if I can find some inspiration, going on holiday in September and would love to be able to wear something other than a swim-tent!! and to not fear being mistaken for something that would be harpooned!.
Currently 196 pounds, but I have been told for my height (5ft 5in) I should be around 130ish!?. Have tried just about every diet on the market and haven't had a great deal of success!, one main fault I have is a lack of patience!! I will try something for a couple of weeks and then when no results give-up :(
Anyway, have now joined a gym and bought a bike! so fingers crossed this will help! I am reading all the different threads on here and hopefully will find something that will work for me!. Keep up the good work y'all!! :)

Hi there!

Although i'm not British, I am moving to Wales in August to marry a lovely Welshman and live in the UK permanenently! I completed my MA in Leeds but my fiance is currently living in Bordon, England- is that near you?

Welcome to the forum- I'm new as well but great experience thus far~!
