Breast Size/Sagginess

Hi, I put this in another section of this site, but this section seems to be a lot more active, so I thought I might add it here as well. I have had some good responses that were very informative, but I was wondering if anyone else has had good or bad experiences with their breast size shrinking or sagginess occurring after weight loss. I am talking about extreme weight loss (50+lbs). I have about 130lbs to lose, about 105 from the point I am at now. I am 19 years old so I know my skin is pretty elastic, but I also am willing to be honest with myself and submit to the fact that I will probably have really saggy boobs :( lol. If anyone else has any experience with this (good or bad) I would be interested to hear about it.

given your age - i would think as long as you are losing weight at a reasonable rate -and not dropping to much at once yu shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Breasts, as far as I know, are just fatty tissue - there's muscle behind 'em but it's just fatty tissue. I think most women tend to lose weight in that area so yo will probably be no exception...

Yeah, well I am trying to be down to 150-170 before September, so that is roughly 80-100lbs in about 6 months. I am doing it the healthy way, and I think I can lose this much this quickly because I have so much to lose, but I dont know if that is slow enough to let my skin catch up!

Super Duper!

Wow, I see how much weight you have left behind!!:)
I don't have any answers for your question, but I looked at your post because of the title "saggy"! I want to have my breasts lifted up or something, because they got bigger with babies (I guess that's not what happens to most women, but...) also with weight gain. I want to go to a plastic surgeon to find out what I can do about it. I really hate the feeling of skin on skin underneath my breasts. I think it's possible to bolt them on...I need to do some research about it.
I'll be watching this thread for info.
Keep on losing...you are doing so great!!:D

Aww thanks so much. It feels so good to have that kind of encouragement, especially when someone notices in person. I had the pleasant experience today of a good friend of mine who I havent seen much lately (shes pledging a sorority) look at me startledly (if thats a word) and say she could definitely tell I had lost weight. Its almost like once you get past 20lbs or so lost it gets so much easier cause you are getting constant encouragement.

I think that if my breasts are really saggy/small when I lose my weight I will probably have surgery as well. It would just be so sad to me, being so young, to finally have a youthful, healthy body that I am confident about but have my breasts make me uncomfortable.

Yeah this is something that i tend to think about also. I'm 21 and my boobs are pretty big for my frame really I'm like a 36DD. But when i was thinner they were a 34C/D. I keep thinking there just gonna be saggy.

Hope not lol

I think if you lose weight slowly and exercise, drink water etc then you will do everything you can to help them not look saggy :) I have been lifting weights and using weight machines that focus on my shoulders, arms, chest and back and have noticed muscle building in my chest. That will help lift 'em! I have only lost about 15lbs... lost a cup size after the first 5lbs and since then haven't changed at all. I think how much you lose from your chest is really dependent on your own body. I gain weight there first (and my stomach) and lose from there last so my size never changes much and like dellamack I am big for my frame. I think you'll be fine! Congratulations on the weight you have lost so far and keep up the good work!!

Went from 36C to 32 Almost B (yep, there's actually a cup size called "Amost B) LOL. The bad news: it's hard to mentally accept not being "busty" anymore...the good news: looks more proportional, not having to wear a bra under backless tops and chest presses give you great "fake" clevage. If you're 19 and never had kids I wouldn't worry too much about the saggy skin...on a side note though, remember to wear a good sports bra when exercising...especially any form of cardio...you want zero bounce cause if you damage the underlying ligaments there's going to be a irreversible (short of surgery) droop factor no matter how elastic your skin is.

I am having weird experiences with that...

Usually I am a 36B. At my heaviest (170 lbs) I became a 36C. Then I lost about about 65 pounds and became a 34B (they were saggy for a year until I started running and working out).

Currently, I weigh 132 pounds and for some reason I am still a 34-36 D. I don't quite get it... Even at my heaviest I wasn't this top heavy. I'm relatively young (33) and I have never had kids.

i'm 16 and have some sag :[ embarrassing for a girl my age because summer of 2007 i had started my weight loss, and lost to this day around 45 pounds and i think that's a reasonable weight time lost period for my skin to catch up, but does anyone have any ideas or recommendations of 'firming cream' because my dad had told me he would let me get surgery if i have a lot of extra skin as a graduation present because my goal is just around 150 but i don't think i can wait another two years but i woould hate to go under the needle because when i have children the breast enlarge and etc. but anyone have any ideaS?

:dupe:Frankly, it stinks to lose inches from "the girls." A total rip off! However, there is something to be said for looking more in proportion over all. I am also digging how much less I jiggle everywhere! But the saggy deal just bites, as does the cup shrinkage in a world that is boob-crazy.

Finances prohibit me from ever getting plastic surgery, but I don't think I would anyway. At least I would not be overly keen on getting implants - I think the risk outweighs the benefit. I am also totally aware that my daughters are like little sponges, soaking up all that I say and especially all that I do. I never want them to be obsessing about their own body parts, though it would be virtually impossible in this society not to feel "less than.":nopity:

JM2C and happy losing/shrinking/getting into shape!

I know this is going to sound like I'm trying to sell a product, and I'm really not. I just wanted to let ya'll know that there are other options to surgery to get rid of the deflated balloon look. I've had 2 kids(gained and lost 50+ lbs each time) and good lord did that do some damage to the girls. :ack2: But, a friend of mine told me about Bloussant. Been taking it for 4 months now, and HOLY $H!T I have the boobs I had pre-kids again! no joke, no spam. seriously. my husband is getting his playtoys back as a "welcome home" present when he gets back from his deployment.
So, although weight changes and kids do wreak havoc, there is help. if you want more info on bloussant feel free to PM me or just look it up online. a LOT cheaper than surgery, and no cutting involved. :D

I think it's important that you read consumer reviews about this products, because there have been several women who've had lumps in their breasts, and been diagnosed with brest cancer after taking this product, and also several women who said it did NOT work for them.

For the OP, I really think you should just wait and see.

I think your breasts shrink more of less depending on your genetics. I too am 20 years old and right now I weigh around 155. At my heaviest I was 190 and at my lowest I am 140-145 (which I am working towards right now). Going from 190 to 155 didn't make enough of a differemce to have a bra size change. Going from 155 to 145 does though. At 145 I wear a 34DD or 32DD, but those are hard to find, so I end up earing a 36D or 38D (where the strap isn't tight enough and my boobs bulge at the top hahah). If I wear those bras at 160, they are just a bit to tight.

I don't know why this is, I guess my breasts are more real boob than just fat. They are not as perky as I would like, but I'm not sure if that is from having large breats or from the weight loss?

But in general, you have less perky boobs if they are larger (D+). Losing weight will definitely affect them also. If it really bothers you, breats lifts are always an (expensive) option.

Question for the ladies

I don't know if anyone asked this before but this question is pretty much on my mind when it comes to losing weight. What happens to the breasts? I've looked through the before and after pictures and the changes are pretty dramatic. What happens to all that skin? From the pictures they look to be small and normal sized in the 'after' but is that how it appears? Or do you just lose the fat in the breast and the skin stays the same size? If you have large, sagging breast...and you lose a bunch of weight...to they turn small and perky, small & saggy, or something in between?

Yeah...I guess you can tell I'm pretty vain...but that's one of the reasons I'm probably hesitant about losing my weight

:waving:Hi Fawzia
While "the girls" have certainly diminished somewhat, I don't think it is terribly noticeable, as the rest of me has also shrunk. And feeling as good as I do now physically and emotionally, there is NO WAY that I would put off losing weight out of fear of my bosom decreasing! If you are overweight enough to want to get healthier or even just to look better, then don't let such a fear stand in your way.

Cheers

Sorry to be a downer but I'm pretty sure the part of the breasts that stretch to cause sagginess (ie the Coopers ligaments) don't get repaired once stretched?

Sorry to inform anyone of this, but my breasts went from a pretty large C to a very small B. They do sag, but all boobs do =P They do have some stretch marks too from being bigger, but whatever, I wouldnt get to weird about that, I think if you have large breasts for your frame now, they will pretty much stay around the same proportion. Good luck with your boobies =P hahah

I only lost a fraction of the weight I need to lose (40 of 160 lbs), and I already notice a big difference in the old girls. I went down from a cup size D to a C, and they went even more saggy than to begin with. I am sure if you're younger, that wouldn't be much of a problem since the skin will tighten to a certain degree, but since I was big for a very long time, I doubt they will ever get back to an even remotely firm state.

I'll probably have to resort to surgery once I lost all my weight (IF that ever happens). :(
