Brawny's Quest

Okay, here’s my story (everybody’s got one). Since Oct 23, I have lost 21 lbs. That’s the good news. The bad news is I have 75-80 more to go. And did I mention that I have lost and regained that 20 lbs about 4 times in the last 3 years. But this time I am trying to do things differently. Usually at this point (2-3 months into the diet) I get fed up or bored, or worn down or injured or something that knocks me off track, then 3-4 months later, I am back where I was or worse. So here is what is different this time. Instead of letting that happen at this point, I am ramping things up. I am actively seeking additional motivation points and setting small reachable goals (baby steps to use a stupid movie quote) That’s why I am here.

Thanks, I am about to get on my bike. Today will be 9 days in a row.
One of my current goals is to exercise 12 days in a row.

Congrats and welcome.

I always find it interesting when people say "they simply get bored."

Is it a comfort thing?

I just don't understand that phrase.

I mean, if you're unhappy enough to change your lifestyles and if you hate carrying around excess fat, I find it hard to believe that such powerful emotions toward changing wear off to the extent that you're bored after a couple of months.

Maybe it's a matter of looking at things incorrectly?

Maybe you can help me understand that phrase a bit more.

Thanks.

It is looking at things incorrectly. It is letting a feeling of the moment like Im bored with eating healthy or I am tied of exercising cloud your view of the big picture which is health, fitness, healthy weight....

I weighed in today
Down 1.6
I was wanting 3 but Im okay with that.
current weight 304
highest weight 336
goal 225?

So it's not so much about boredom. It's a matter of lack of control of perceptions and overriding value systems engrained in your unconscious.

maybe failure to listen to the right value system. Listening to the short term gratification one rather than the better long term one.

Well I am now moving my thread to the weight loss diary section. Yall come see me there. I will check in here and try to encourage new folks. This time Im gonna get this done.
