where to start? ok, well im a 25 year old male, bout 6'1 and 225lbs. i never really had to diet,i was one of those overactive hyper kids that could eat whatever and stay in great shape, i was always kinda on the lanky side, than adulthood set in, my metabolism slowed down, i became less active and now here i am, i wouldn't say im fat just yet, although i am getting a bit of a gut. Now i want to leave that lifestyle of laziness and poor eating habits behind, what i want to know is where do i start. what do i eat?(a good balance of everything i need ) how often do i eat?(i read more smalll meals to boost your metabolism). and what about supplements? do l need them? i just need a template to follow to better myself , i also was thinkin about doing some cardio (mainly running) but how much? how often? 4 days a week, 5 days?1 hour a day? how much is too much, how much is not enough? thanks to anyone who posts help, it will be greatly appreciated ,thanks,Pat

you need to first engage your brain and start reading the stickied threads - most of your questions are answered in them - it's good for you to help yourself.. that way you will get yourself to where you want to be and stay there...

Start with On Topic, then go to Exercise and Nutrition.. and ask questions based onw hat you've read

Welcome to the forum!

Follow Mal's advice about the stickies, etc. I'm sure you'll get rid of those extra lbs. You don't have much to lose. Men tend to lose that gut pretty easily--my husband does. All he has to do is cut out beer for a month and he drops 5lbs..lol. I'm sure if you cut back on your cals a bit and start exercising more--especially weights--you'll get back to where you'd like to be. :)
