Braces help

Hi,

I had to have a brace fitted for my teeth and they are quite sore now.
I cant chew anything at all really.
The last couple of days i havnt gone over 1500 calories. This wasnt out of choice, i just couldnt find enough "food" to "eat" in liquid form.
Whats even more annoying is im still on a plateau even after eating maintenance and above for about 3 weeks. Nothing seems to be working. I didnt think teens could eve get plateaus.
I might just carry on on a low calorie diet, it works for anorexics and a lot of people have had success with it. My metabolism must be naturally low or something. And these braces have ruined my metabolism now anyway.

Either way ive still reached a standstill.

If you truly went back up to maintenance for a while, and dropped back down into a deficit and can't lose weight:

a) you are not counting calories properly

b) go to the doctor
 
well its impossible to go by maintenance because there is no way to know what it is. My metabolism must be abnormally low. So it wouldnt hurt for me to go 1000 calories a day because my metabolism must be around 1500.

It wouldn't be that low unless something was going on medically. Metabolisms just don't go that low naturally.
 
well i might just do loads of cardio and have 1500 a day. i dont have much muscle anyway so i dont care if i lose it. screw doing it safely no one reaches the single digit bf% taking the safe method.

I beg to differ. I have been in the single digits multiple times.

You can be in the single digits and look like shit, mind you. Being a skinny turd and having 7% bodyfat is not ideal, IMO. But again, that is only my opinion.
 
The way you talk really makes me think that you are heading towards having an eating disorder.

Seek help.
 
Ummm, go to the doctor. That will solve it once and for all. Either you have a problem or you don't know how to count.

I really don't understand why you would do a starvation type of diet when you know it is a dead-end road, rather then seeking medical help?

Well i dont have a clue what my maintenance is, which is the one thing you must know before doing anything related to weight loss.
It could be 1400 or it could be 2500 calories, i have no idea.

Plus i want to reach the 160's, ive been in the 170's for months. So starvation will get me there.

If your maintenance is 1400 then you need to go to the DOCTOR!

It is not hard to figure out maintenance. For someone of average body size, 15 calories per pound will get you close enough. If you find yourself gaining at this rate, then start dropping calories from this point every 2 weeks or so until you start to maintain body weight. Bingo. You found your maintenance.

However, again, this is assuming you can count.

It says its 1914 calories. So i have to have 1500 calories a day to lose a pathetic 1lb a week anyway.

That DOES NOT assume loads of muscle. Don't talk out your butt, especially to me.

What are you stats? Height, age, and weight.

15, 16 in just over a month.
5ft 10
176lb.
25% bf according to bathroom scales.
43.6% muscle mass according to bathroom scales.
