BPM'S NIGHT CLUB! It's All Business Baby!

Now opening the doors to BPM's Night Club! Here I will share my progress and transition to a whole new person that I never thought was possible, until now!

I've had a pretty rough life, starting from childhood all the way to present day at 22. In regards to my weight. I suppose my personality has carried me through the rough times, and now I'm ready to transition into a look I never thought I could have, a healthy lifestyle I never thought I could manage, and a whole new me with confidence, self-esteem, dedication and motivation I never thought I would ever have!!! Reading through your journals/diaries has a world of meaning for people like myself who thought I was the only one. I thank you for that. It's one thing to express your own emotions, thoughts, feelings, as well as your progress, but understand that you not giving up, and keeping your diary updated, drives people like myself to do it n' never give up!

Without further ado, I'de like to get started! If anyone has any questions, concerns, needs advice, I'm a great listener and like to talk. PM's always open and my thread is always accepting. Anyone like to dance? lol

I've never been so pumped up to do this, and cannot wait until I can show my progress pics! I'd love to share some befores now, but what fun is that without a challange huh? I'll keep everyone posted as much as I can, and hope you do the same. I'm making my way through everyones journals to get to know everyone and give you any boost you may or may not need!

The DJ's on the mixer, my meals are prepared and set, my measurements have been made, pictures have been taken, and I'm screaming to put my routine into motion!

My next post will follow my Monday, Jan 25, Day 1 input!

Thanks Trusylver!

Alright time to catch up here.

Monday- Twas a first good day where I'm now actually recording everything. I woke up around 7:20 gathered my clothes hit the road. Halfway point I take my preworkout drink, wakes me up and gives me a pump. I can't take it too early otherwise I'm "that guy" flying down the highway so I wait. Got to the gym started a few minute stretch did a 2 min walk, 3 min sprint. Got warmed up.

Since I'm more concerned at this point regarding my weight training, I set my goals to workout with my bro and make sure I have all the technique and form down to a T. Monday was chest, so I hit that real hard. I'd list the workouts but I want to keep this strictly weight loss subject.

Immediately leaving the gym I had my protein shake around 9:50 am.

11:25 I had 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup blue berries, and a banana sliced
1:10 I had my chicken wrap, extremely low carb wrap, 1/2 lb baked chicken, fresh salsa as my toppings.

I make my salsa as such. Large tomato finely diced, small onion finely diced, 2 fresh jalapeno's finely diced, 1 lemon, 1 lime, pinch of garlic salt. Mmmm

3:00 I had my fruit salad consisting of 1/3 cup of each, blueberry, strawberry, kiwi, grapes and 2 clementines.

5:00 Low Sodium quality turkey wrap, with tbsp mustard, 1/2 tbsp horseradish, jalapeno, lettuce, tomato, red onion all finely chopped, with side of fresh veggies

6:00 Munched on some more veggies

7:30 Had a protein shake

I felt good all day, energetic and eager. I managed to complete just by drinking water from the same bottle 4.0 liters. This is not including the water used for my protein shakes, fruits etc etc. I am right where I want to be for my intake of H20. Woot!

Tuesday. Big ol' second day. I struggled waking up this morning. I'm trying to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep but its tough, working on it. I got up around 7:40, which I had to rush to shave and do the works this morning. On the way to the gym, took my preworkout drink, got there around 8:40am which left me only about an hour 10 mins to nail my workout out. Did a quick jump up n down and got right to it. Today we did back and tri's. I was feelin it!! I tore the gym up. Did a few supersets and I was just animal. Because I felt Monday I didn't do as well to intake more solid food I wanted to add lil extra.

Took my protein shake immediately afterwards around 10:10.

11:20 I had my 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 banana sliced, and 1 kiwi sliced

12:50 Usual fruit salad, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, 1 kiwi, 1/2 cup mixed almonds and walnuts

2:30 Cracked pepper turkey wrap, diced lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, banana pepper

4:15 Chicken dish where I had a full chicken breast cut into thin squares, where I poured some fresh salsa, jalapeno and some franks redhot Mmmm

6:00 Protein Shake nothing special

7:30 I had fresh baked salmon where I put my blend of finely chopped cilantro, lemon, and a tbps EV olive lil. Pull that bad boy out squeezed some lemon on it... Heaven in my mouth.

Today was good. I got down more water 4.5 liters. As you can tell from my food I make everything have a kick to it. I like hot foods. I'm always slamming a bottle of water down before I eat to keep me satisfied. All the heat and citrus helps suppress my hunger. I feel that I may not be getting as much carbs as I possibly should be, but this is the beginning, I'm enjoying my foods. I'm getting my recommended fruits, veggies, water, protein, fats so far. I keep the carbs down to a low. Whenever I start getting hungry between the times I have listed, I'll snack on broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, cucumber etc. I was pretty exhausted after work though, but hey it happens.

Looking forward to wednesday baby!

Hello, Welcome and thanks for stoppin by my diary. Lovin your menu, lots of very fresh, clean foods. Wish mine was as clean as yours. :) Maybe I'll have to steal some of your foods. haha. So what are we wanting to accomplish here? Are you in a bulking stage, cutting stage? Seems your being strictly protein/fruits/veggies and weights--this is what makes me think of the bulking ect. What ever it is I'm sure it will work with the system you got going here. Also kudos on getting up and going to the gym so early... im a 10pm-2am'er. I am so NOT a morning person. Theres no way you could talk me into getting out of bed to exercise instead of sleeping an extra half hour. Well, good luck and I'm sure I'll be stopping back often to steal more recipes from you. Keep up the good work!

Hey BPM,

I love your determination, you seem truly ready to go for the whole run.

Can I be nosey and ask how much you want to lose in total?

Hi Mike! Thanks for stopping by my journal. Your eating has been excellent the last few days! If you can keep that up you will surely lose a lot of weight just from your diet alone. Just in case you ever get tired of working so hard though with making and preparing every meal that way, maybe you could write down a short list of some quick and easy healthy meals just for the days you are feeling a little down or just plain lazy. A lot of times when our plan is complicated, and I'm not saying yours is, we eventually wear ourselves out. Great job so far though!

I noticed you are the same height as me, just 10 years younger. My starting weight was 251 and in just over one year I got down to 193. Right now I am 213 but I'm slowly losing weight again. Here is a link to my one year progress thread: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/before-after-between/31033-may-2008-may-2009-a.html

I have no doubt you can do just as good or even better than I did! Just give yourself TIME and BE PATIENT! One month at a time man! And don't forget the cardio. I HATED cardio at first so I simply walked 3.3 mph and varied the incline from 5 to 10 until I found the incline that would hold my heart rate above 140. I did this for 20 to 30 minutes three times a week in addition to the weight training I was doing. In only 5 months I had lost 47 pounds that way! I ate very healthy also, of course.

Best of luck to you. I will be keeping a close eye on your progress. This is a mental challenge even more than a physical one. The possibilties are endless!

Derrick

Thanks ChefAshley! My goal as it stands until Feb 1st is to just perfect my technique and form with weight lifting. As I drop this weight my next stage will be to build up muscle. Right now I'm just strictly losing weight although having no cardio in my routine. That will start Feb 1st when I start me new routine. I don't want to start building muscle once I've achieved my weight loss having an incorrect form as this will lead to injury. To answer your question on bulking, I would new a surplus of calories, carbs, fats to accomplish that. My carb count is way to low to build muscle but just enough to maintain and lose weight. Once I add in cardio my numbers of weight loss will double.

I hear you on waking up, it's not easy and I'm with you on not being a morning person. My other option was to go after work. I work a 10am-8:30pm shift 5 days a week. I used to go afterwards but that led to a sloppy workout and was very discouraged quickly as the gym was the last thing on my mind to do. I wouldn't get home until 11:30-12. Thank you for dropping in. I will spruce things up with more foods and recipes when I start to get more comfortable with adapting to the new eating habits.

Hey Dowie thanks for showing interest. As of now I'm unsure on total weightloss I'm shootin for. I'll determine that when I see where I want my body to be at before I start building muscle. If I had to guess at this point I'd like to get down to 210-220. I have a big frame, so being skinny or slim is out of the question. My frame is just to broad and big to allow it. At that weight I'll see what I'm working with and go from there. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask, In my club you can be as nosy as you want.

Hey Derrick, thanks for advice and encouragement! I 100% agree with the planning of the meals, and your right on the fact that sometimes I will get tired of preparing, but I just know it has to be done. I don't like being hungry lol so the quicker I have my meal ready the better off I'll be.

Congratulations on that weight loss! That's awesome! I do know cardio is a crutial factor in the success of my weight loss, but for the time being I was having my brother show me the ropes. He's been working out for over 8 years now, and our body types is like night and day lol. I'm fortunate to have him around and correct my forms when I'm weight training. I've been in and out of the gym for the past 8 months. This is the first time in my life I've been as consistent and determined to lose weight the "correct" way. This is all a lifestyle change. I want this more than anyone can imagine, and I won't stop or quit. I do have to watch my meals, because one thing I don't want to do is set myself up for failure, but amazingly my meals have been fulfilling. My sudden drop in carbs didn't hit me as bad as I thought it would. This time I'm actually getting my 5-6 meals and my intake of water has been high. It all helps. Thanks again and looking forward to seeing you around. I'm going to check out your thread you posted.

Take it easy man, and thank you again!

I GOTTA GET THROUGH THIS -- Daniel Bedingfield .. Classic song

Alright day numero tres! I planned on not hitting the gym this morning. I wanted to get some extra rest. Instead I went tonight. Well I woke up this morning feeling a bit refreshed, but starving. I knew when I got to work I wanted a good breakfast.

10:30 am 2/3 cup oatmeal, 6 strawberries sliced, 6 blackberries, and half banana, 3 boiled eggs, ate just the egg white

12:40 I had a quality turkey wrap with 1 THIN slice of 25% reduced fat swiss, no toppings, no dressing. Threw that in the microwave and enjoyed. (I been craving cheese)

2:10 I had a mix of strawberries, blackberries, and clementines.. Added in a few almonds

4:00 I had tilapia filet with my cilantro rub, with some additional lemon... I also put handful broccoli and carrots, no fat/stick spray pinch of garlic salt, pinch of garlic powder, wrapped it up in foil and threw it in the oven with the tilapia. MMMM HOTTT DAYUMMM!!! Tasted good.

6:30 I took my wrap baked it to a crisp, crumbled it, threw some diced chicken over the top, with some of my salsa, lettuce and a tbsp of hot taco sauce.. A lil chicken taco salad as you will... Loved every bite.

I didn't want to eat again before the gym. I wasn't going to hit the weights since its PACKED from 7-10. I got there around 8:45 did a quick HIIT routine. Walked 4 minutes, stairmastered 2 mins, elyptical for 5 mins, walked another 2 mins, switched it up to a 3 min run, 2 min stairmaster, and cooled down with another 5 min walk. That's all I did. I don't have the patience to deal with people at the gym, having to wait for the weights to clear up. It was INTENSE though, I had a good cardio workout. Did a few stretches afterwards, and dipped out. I'm going to workout with a buddy of mine tomorrow morn at his gym. So I'll have to leave my mark there and TEAR IT UP!!! Moooovin on UPPP BABY!!! Water intake was 3.5 liters today.

Day 4 skeeet skeeet!!! I had a day off of work which was interesting to say the least. I had brought home some food to cook but not being in my commercial kitchen I find it tough to make a good meal.

Woke up at 10:00am to my buddy calling to hit up his gym.

10:10 I had 1/2 cup oatmeal, half banana, handful of blueberries.

10:30 Took my preworkout drink and met my buddy up

11:00 Hit the gym, details will follow below

12:40 had my protein shake

2:00 I had some mixed fruits, strawberries, 2 clementines, 2 kiwi

5:00 I had a 1/4 lb turkey wrap with 1 thin slice of 25% reduced fat swiss, I had it plain microwaved to melt the cheese

8:00 I had a protein shake and munched on some grapes

I didn't really hit my food very well today. I had fish and chicken at home but didn't know how to prep em. I'm afraid that making the same stuff will turn me off eventually. I'm trying to mix my foods up as much as I can.

Today we did chest. The intensity wasn't as high as I wanted it to be. He's got alot of "seasoned" people at his gym and they kept the music to oldies. I couldn't get into it. On top of that my buddy is recovering from his rotator cup injury he had few months back. So his intensity was low which drew me down a little. Nonetheless we hit all the core workouts for chest. We had finished quickly so I jumped on the elyptical did 15 mins, then hopped on the cycle and did 15 more mins then we called it.

Only 3 more days until I start my ball busting routine. I CANNOT WAIT! Weight training with some intense cardio. I'm also going to start logging my calorie intake with the foods I list. I'm going to do a bit more research as to where I should keep it at and go from there. I will chime in tomorrow with much better results than today. I'm going to eat better and workout harder!!!

Alright these last 3 days have been a bit tough. I've been abnormally exhausted and have been catching up on sleep. I cooled down these last 3 days. My diet has still been on target. Keeping it roughly the same as the previous days. I added some whole grain bread for some carbs. I also learned that I don't really like eggs as much as I thought lol. Friday morning when I made some breakfast I decided to make an egg white omelette with onion and mushroom and after about the fifth bite I couldn't stomach it.

Other than that, I'm rejuvinized and ready TO FIST PUMP THIS MONTH!!!

I have my new weight training and cardio routine worked out. I've also tagged all the contents of the food which I tweaked a lil bit. I will post my weight tomorrow when I weight it up at the gym tomorrow morning!

More details to come!!!
