Boxing my way to faboulessness!!

Hi All!

I came accross this awsome website by accident today and thought I might give you all the lowdown about my situation/background:

* I am an overweight 26 y/o female from Sydney Aus and finally got really SICK of looking & feeling the way I do.
* I used to be extremely fit and miss the way that training used to make me feel - exhilerated, focused, calm, healthy etc
* Long story short some stuff happened in my life and fitness, health & esteem went down the drain.

ANYWAY - the positives are:

* I have been cardio kick boxing & cardio boxing for 3 weeks now - four times a week - at my local boxing studio. Mind you the classess are a KILLER :pain7:every time. Each class is vastly different from the last and the drills they make us do use the same principles but are slightly different to keep interest & effectivness up. We do a combo of cardio drills, squats, pushups, situps, lunges, lots of bag work, lots of work with the medicine ball (OUCH!) and skipping.
* I am eating plenty of vegetables and fish & lean meats and water... i.e NO junk, processed foods etc.

After three weeks my technique and staying power has improved AND my clothes are fitting much looser than before and i feel GREAT!.

Well, me being me and having loved being extremely fit about 3 years ago I would LOVE some advice:

* Do i need to chuck in some runs or other "true aearobic" activity during my week?
* Is there anything else I can do to speed the weight loss up?

Thanks guys!!!! really appreciate your advice.

Cheers
Kat

haha! thanks - yes my motivation levels are really high... I think I just need to keep pushing myself and keep on upping the ante....

You dont have to do anything. If you're having fun doing kickboxing, but feel you may want to exercise a bit more, then go for it.

Welcome.
