Bones unable to support weight the muscles can carry ?

Hi everyone !
I'm new to this forum, and quite new to weight training in general. I started about a year ago, but only seriously about 5-6 months ago (decent nutricion and a good workout program).

I've been quite statisfied with the results so far, certainly because I'm a very slim person, and I never expected much results, so with every muscle I gain I'm statisfied ^^

But now recently, I seem to have a problem... I have the feeling that the bones in my forearms can't support the weight that my biceps can lift ! It is as if the bone could actually break :s So i'm quite worried about this... I'm afraid that if I went to a doctor he'd prolly advice me to stop lifting, which would be a disaster :/ I've become addicted to it, and I want more ;p

Another problem is that my forearms are the 'weakest link' for most back & biceps exercises anyway. While I feel my biceps can easily lift a few more sets, I can't keep my grip around the weight and I just have to let go =( So I can't tax my biceps enough untill they fail or so, my forearms will always fail first. Perhaps this is because I never did any specific exersises for my forearms, untill about a month ago (when it started to become a real problem) ?

Oh, and could the cause of the taxing feeling on my fore arm bones be that they're still growing and that my body is adapting to it ? I'm 19, but I'm still very thin, and I'd be surprised (or just disappointed) if my body/skeleton wouldn't grow anymore...

Thank you in advance !

I've never heard of anyone breaking bones unless they are lifting very heavy weights (world record poundages) with very poor form. More likely you are stressing your connective tissue (carilage, ligaments, tendons, etc.). It is possible to increase muscle strength faster than the connective tissue can keep up. The solution is to back off on the weights for a while and increase the reps. This allows the connective tissue to catch up while you are still doing the muscles good by increasing your heart/lung/circulatory system to suport more muscel growth when you next go back to the heavy weights.

hm that makes sense =)

it's not like i'm doing an aweful lot of weight & low reps though... atm i'm doing 12-10-8 or 10-8-6 series, with a max of 16 kg (about 35 lbs i think) for regular dumbbell biceps curl... i'll try higher reps / lower weight though, see what that gives :x i suppose that after some more forearm training the problem will solve itself anyway. should have trained that from the beginning along with the rest :/

tnx for the reply !

Bones are stronger than steel when compared strength to weight.

Biomechanically, if you were doing a curl, your biceps and tendons in your elbow would tear way, way before your bones would break.
