body sculpt

 i'm kinda new to exercise and i recently decided to take body sculpt classes at the YMCA.
i was wondering if a body sculpt class a day for three days a wek is enough to lose weight, or doi have to do cardio to?[/FONT]

Ideally you'd want a mix of strength training (resistance, e.g. weights) and cardio. These will build strength and stamina respectively. That and a good clean diet of 5-6 meals a day are your best bets for helping to lose weight. Check the FAQ thread stickied at the top of this section for more info. Good luck.

I dont know what body sculpt classes consist of, but the only way your going to lose weight is with a clean diet. You need a calorie deficit of about 500 a day, and that will drop you about a pound a week. Post up your diet, cardio helps, but is not essential.

not unhealthy eater

:( just wanted to say that i'm not a big junk food person, but i still have gained weight since the beginning of summer-20 pounds to be exact-i blame it on the slow summer schedule, but right now, i'm really desperate to knock off the extra weight.
i'll try anything.

It sounds like you're headed in the right direction. Be sure to eat clean and as was stated above start adding more to your exercise regime. It takes time but it is wonderful to see your muscles start to pop out or your clothes getting loose. Remember this is a lifetime plan. If you quit exercising it will show eventually.:(
Good luck and keep at it!:)
