This recording was part of the learning material in sports nutrition watch on Youtube

Advanced Sports Dietitian Taryn Richardson from Dietitian Approved talks to UniSC Associate Professor Gary Slater (Advanced Sports Dietitian, Exercise Physiologist) about the practical considerations and issues surrounding body composition assessment.

Just watched it, thanks. Very informative.

Do you see any value to the %body fat scales? Seems very easy to use.

On the height measurements as I age I am getting a little shorter. Should I use the height at a younger age or my current measure? I can see some logic to either.

Bodyfat scales are not good for accuracy so changes need to be quite large before you could be confident in the change, small changes can be hidden in the margin of error. But if you can keep the conditions similar each time you measure then it is possible to see trends even if the numbers may not be correct.
