Bllod pressure. Ugh.

Do you have High blood pressure?

Okay, so i have a fluctuating blood pressure. I've cut out all supplements to see if they were the factor, but it still is high one day and normal another. Any ideas? Doctor just says its genetics, but i don't really want to be taking meds for it. Any ideas on how to keep it down?
 
Less salt, more water, more cardio, get blood work done to make sure you're kidneys are working okay, and get an EKG to make sure your heart is too. Beyond that, there isn't much you can do besides medication to manage it. Goodluck.
 
Yeah i've modified my diet, for less sodium, which is almost none now. I just got my ultrasound EKG and heart echo back today. My kidneys seem to have amazing artillery flow and my heart is twice as muscular as it should be, so i think im just stuck with taking meds. My genetics just make it spike. I dunno. Thanks guys.

I'm finally back again after taking a several month break from writing here--life just got in the way & I focused on some other things.

My BP WAS high for the 1st time in my life last Nov. & I got scared because my triglycerides were also really high, so I've been eating much, much healthier & started doing weight resistance & at-home exercises. I am recording every morsel I put in my mouth & what activity I do now.

My BP in Nov. was: 144/98
last week: 112/69

Yahooo! :jump1: I'm on a roll again! I have started charting my reps & have a better couple of sets to use all muscles grps w/ a variety of things, & am using a pedometer, too. I'm getting my trigs & other stuff checked again at end of this mo. to see how they are too. I'm only able to swim 2X/wk but I do what I can. I've started power shopping, too, which really gets my heart rate going. :) Better health, HERE I COME!!!

I put no, but my BP is going to be a bit higher than normal all my life... I was born with a restriction in my aorta (was operated on at 23 days old, and had an angio-plasti (sp) at age 5 to remove scar tissue), so my BP is always going to be somewhat above normal. Although I se my cardiologist once a year and there's been times when it's been 100% of normal, so I guess it just depends. It was a bit high last year when I went and my doc told me to cut back on salts and work out more, and I had a hard time at first cutting way back on sodium but have been much better lately. I go to see him this next month, so I'm hoping it's back down there. If not, I might end up on meds...
