Birth Days..

I hate my b-day, I think I put on 5lbs over night :( from the cake/peaces of cake i ate the other day :((

Why oh why does b-day cake have to taste so good. :(

Heres a ray of hope for you

Its virtually impossible to put on 5 lbs overnight. You would have to consume your daily intake + 17500 calories to do that.

Your weight can vary 5-7 lbs due to water weight daily. You may have consumed a lot of sodium and your body is retaining a lot of water.

Sit in the sauna for 15mintues if you have access. That will draw out some sodium, as Allen said

Well, Lets see, I had a slice of cheese cake.. Slice of carret cake, and a slice of carmel/cocanut cake... lol

Then a Glass of white cranbarry juice.

How long would one have to stay in a sauna to lose 4+lbs?

Today i had a 4 egg omlet(self made) and another slice of cheese cake.. then an apple.

time to put my cardio take in the tv again :(

remember, there is a difference between 5 lbs of weight and 5 lbs of fat. I showed I gained 1.5 lbs overnight. I know this is BS because I know exactly what I ate yesterday. I also didn't drink much water after 5 pm est. Im attributing mine to water weight. Hydrate yourself well for a day, sit 15 minutes in the sauna and get a good sweat going and see what happens.

hey its your b-day. loosen up and have fun then get back on track :)

Yeah, I guess your right..

Hey, a question about the sauna.. How does one dress for sauna? On shows it has people in just a towel. But I see sauna suits at the sports shop here in town.. Something about trapping in the moisture/heat in the suit...

I only wear a towel. btw, I always wondered what those saunas are for. I thought it just helps you relax after a workout or something. I didn't know sodium promotes water retention and you could get rid of it in the sauna. But would it be ideal to lose uhh "water retaining capacity"? I mean I sweat alot when in the gym and I don't want to get dehyrdated. Will it still be okay to go to the steam room or sauna everytime after workout?

Your sweat does contain sodium. By nature, sodium is poisonous to the body in high enough doses. The body retains water as a buffering agent. Thats why a person who is well hydrated doesn't retain as much water. Correct me if Im wrong, Im not an anatomy expert or a biology expert, but sodium is cleaned out by the kidneys, water flushes it out.
