BikiniBound's Diary

Not to belabor the baby crying issue, but I do agree with you on your examples. I think we all agree that newborns should not be left to cry, even if there may be nothing wrong and they just want to be held, as could very often be the case with my sister's baby. A baby is used to a warm, rocking womb so I feel they deserve that comforting feeling for a while. Its hard to figure out if my sister's baby is in pain from "wind" (as they politely call it at sis' house) or just wants to be held, but I dont think it matters as a four month old deserves to be held if that's what they want. I hope most people understand that they're just not cognizant at 4 months to cry for a manipulative purpose and they simply dont put 2 and 2 together that crying = getting what I want.

Now what are these green drops and WHERE do we get them?! I will mention the wheat to my sister as the other day the doctor did note that it could be some food that's in the milk that's bothering the baby. She mentioned to the doc that she eats lots of oranges and she wasn't relishing giving them up, but that didn't make much sense to us but the wheat might make more sense. Thanks for the heads up.

On one occasion the baby got into a snit on our way to the park cuz she wanted to play in this little toy car and I wanted to take her and her cousin to the park. So she screamed the whole way there and I was surprised she didn't let up when we got there. I tried to comfort her, yell at her, be nice, mean, nothing worked. Finally I got pissed and laid her down on the grass (it being warm enough in FL and us being in a gated park) and walked away to play with her cousin. She screamed for a few more moments and then crawled over to us (mind you she walks perfectly well but she can be quite dramatic at times). The crying finally stopped as she realized no one cared about her tantrum! Ha ha. They do get quite manipulative as they get older, but unfortunately for them they are no match for a 39 year old LOL.

Trust me, I never exercised like this before I started losing weight. Oh, I might have done it for a week or two, but then gave up. Now I tell myself that it's mandatory, not optional. I'm also in a challenge right now that requires us to exercise 5hrs a week in order to get full pts. So that is a huge kick in the rear to keep me going. Consistency is the key. You just need to eat right and exercise consistently, and you'll do just fine. :)

Claud's right to call you Star!! :D I'm glad you saw a new low, what's up today, hmmmm? :)

Are you telling me the doc said the baby had colic or acid reflux and then did nothing about it????? Time to get a new doc, imo. There is all kinds of stuff out there for that problem. Why should everyone have to suffer needlessly?

Yup, ignore the tantrums and they will soon disappear. Trying to comfort them only feeds the fire. Once thery realize they are ineffective in getting what they want, they will decrease in frequency. :D Ever watch Supernanny? I love that show. She gives really good, sensible advice. I hardly ever watch, though, b/c most of the parents are so inept it drives me nuts to watch them. And I cannot stand the screaming children...lol. My friend in Wisconsin had a baby in Nov, and every time I've called her, the kid's been screaming into the phone. You can bet I get off ASAP!! lmao

Good luck for another new low on Friday morning.

Thanks for posting the bonus - I should be able to cope fine with drinking the water. It is a little more water than I normally have - but I am so lazy I worked out that an extra half litre sorts me out so I will have that. I cannot be bothered with messing around with measuring jugs.

I was sorry to ask the question - but I had this vision of you saying no bananas or something after I had just done it on Friday.

No bananas!! LOL I can't think of a good reason to boycott bananas. Raisins and shreddies, however, are getting the axe next week. hahaha. Just Kidding! :biggrinjester:

Thanks Paul and Val!

No new lows today. I was back up to 223.5. :ack2: Whateva. It's obviously not fat, so I don't give a rip.

A couple came into the office and might want me to list their house. They had it listed with another company last year, and never sold it. I have been running comps and cannot decide on a price to recommend. It's giving me a range between $251K-299K. :banghead: They had it listed for $309,900 when they couldn't sell it. I actually showed it to that horrible woman from N.C. last fall and she hated it, of course. :D

Now what are these green drops and WHERE do we get them?!

I'd guess they're either "gripe water" or Mylicon drops. Mylicon drops are easy to find, and work mechanically on gas, but aren't absorbed by your body at all, so are harmless. "Gripe water" could be a variety of things.

I found that if I drank a cup of fennel tea (fennel seeds steeped in hot water for a few minutes) in the morning and in the evening, DD wasn't gassy anymore. I could tell if I missed a day, too.

My DD was sensitive enough to both wheat and dairy as a baby that I couldn't eat them, or she'd react (eczema for dairy, GI bleeding for wheat). She was fast to react (within hours) and fast to clear up (within a day), so it shouldn't have been that hard to figure it out - except that I was eating cheese sandwiches 3 meals a day, every day. So it took us until she was about 9 weeks old to figure out dairy and nearly to 6 months to figure out wheat.

Honestly, if your sister's first thought was "I eat a lot of oranges," I'd put my money on oranges. I've heard of plenty of babies who react to cow's milk, but wheat is a fairly uncommon allergen as far as things that pass through breastmilk. Oranges are pretty allergenic / reaction causing; the last I heard, they were in the "introduce at 3 years" list for kids with known food allergies, right along with nuts and shellfish.

Please be careful with the Ambien. One of my friends took that and ended up waking up in her backyard, no ideas how she got there, the house left wide open for anyone to walk in and it was like 35 degrees out. She's only lucky she did not drive or wander out of her yard.

H and I have both taken Ambien (actually it's the generic brand of it) several times recently with no bad side effects. But lately I cannot get to sleep at a decent hour if I don't take it, and when I have to get up early, I have to get some sleep. I don't take it everyday, only once or twice a week. Atm, I'm tired, and am going to bed without any. I've got another early day tomorrow. :ack2: We only take half a pill most of the time. I don't want to get addicted.

Got to the gym and exercised for an hour. Then I had dinner with Granny and had steak fettucine alfredo. Ooops. I took about 1/3 of it home with me, so at least I didn't gobble down all of it. :biggrinjester:

Thanks so much for the information Pheobe. I will pass this right along to my sis. Her baby starting getting excema so you could be very right about the dairy.

Hey Mami,

I hope the weekend is treating your beautiful self well. Sorry I haven't been around much to cause trouble with you. Sean's been ill, I've been running errands, and there just isn't enough time in the day to get shit done as of late. BAH! I'm a wee bit sad that I miss your low so far! Double BAH!! Congrats to you sweety for being a half a pound down. Love yas, sugar tits.

-Sheryl

I also hope that the weekend is going well for you.

Thank goodness that you were only joking about the raisins and shreddies getting the axe. You know that I would be upset. Keeps your hands off my weetabix too!

Did she make it herself? If so, what is the recipe? That sounds AMAZING.

Hahaha! There is no way my granny would make that dish. While I was eating it, she remarked, as she always does when I eat pasta, "Now I just don't care for pasta. I never really did." I ordered it at a restaurant. I am not sure what the recipe is, but it was damn good. I finished it off this afternoon. And let's just say that I was fighting garlic breath all day yesterday--so I imagine there was a lot of fresh garlic in it--which I love.

I agree! Steak fettucine alfredo sounds AMAZING!

Give James the recipe so he can make it for me one day! :D

Besides the garlic and alfredo sauce, there were sliced mushrooms, diced tomatoes and spinach in it--and steak, of course--very yummy. That's all I know. I'm sure there was sour cream in it and parmesan cheese.
