Biggest Losers Website

Thanks for the review, Kan :) Spark provides all I need and a mediocre public forum as well :p for free! Honestly - I prefere the private group forums LOL!

For those looking to give themselves that monetary motivation - e-diets and a slew of other programs have pay programs that offer at least as much, if not more, than the BL site does :)

God Bless,
mik

I was a member of e-diets years ago -and their good point - if yu can call it that -is they aren't a one size fits all program - they do support most of the major diet programs out there -but are a little too fad diet-y in their focus...

But - like i already said - anything will work if you're ready to make it work - you don't need to pay money... though for some that does give them added incentive as the mindset of you get what you pay for works for some... not for others...

Honestly, any diet plan, especially online, should have a page that lists all the meals it puts in it's meal plan. Then you just check the ones you like so that it always gives you food that you like. I haven't actually seen one like that, but it would be ideal. After all, lots of people are picky. I can't see that it would be that hard to set up the database to work like that. After all it can leave out meat and such for people with allergies and special diets.

BL online just wasn't worth the hype for me. After the holidays I am for sure cancelling my membership. Not worth it (although the behind the scenes videos were really fun!!!).

Hey I just came across this forum and thought I would tell you about it. I signed up for The Biggest Loser Club and I love it. The food is pretty good, it's not too restrictive, you mostly eat low fat, fat free versions of the normal food you would eat. They have a meal planner where you can plan out your meals and an exercise plan. There's actually waay too many things that they offer to list. I've lost about 10 pounds so far. They also have nutrition and fitness experts on their forums to answer your questions. I asked them how I could speed up my weight loss and they go in depth and really help you. So if you haven't already signed up or found something else, I would say the BLC is a good investment.

Anything is a good investment..... If it works for you.

Millions lost weight with Atkins. Even more with Weight Watchers and the other big organizations. Some found success with hoodia, some with Tonalin, others with Acai or the other myriad of products out there, whether scientific or voodoo based.

If it works for you isnt it worth the money in the long run?

My overweight friends here have criticized me for buying a gym membership, stating that it isn't necesary to buy anything, all exercise and diet can be done on your own, and with no equipment. I also bought a step, exercise ball, free weights, elastics, a Wii and Wii Fit, an exercise bike, numerous books and videos of exercises I like, fitday.com software etc.....

I spent a crapload of money that in the past I would never have justified spending because it "wasn't necessary for weight loss"

But, it is working. I use all the equipment almost daily, with the exception of the exercise bike. I do go to the gym 3-5 days a week and I enjoy using the fitness toys I bought, especially the Wii.

But I did feel a little bad because I too have a family and I worried I was taking money away from them to spend on myself. When I mentioned this to them, they looked at me dumbfounded.

Because I bought the tools and used them, and they have been working. Since making those purchases I have lost 70 pounds. So when I asked my wife and daughter if it was worth it, they were shocked! They both love the fit and active man I have become and they enjoy using the equipment too (especially my daughter and the Wii). KNowing what I know now I woulod have gladly given up luxuries in the past when I was young and single to have all the knowledge and toys I have now.

So is it worth it to spend 20 bucks a month on a BLC membership?

Depends who you ask. For those who it didnt work for, and they didnt lose weight because it wasnt right for them, they will think it was an incredible waste of time and money.

But ask any of those members who lost a bunch of weight if $20 a month was worth it.....

My friends give me a hard time for a $220 gym membership which is "un-necessary". Yet in the 3 months I have been going to that gym and running on the treadmill (thats all I do there) I have dropped an additional 40 pounds. 220 dollars for 40 pounds? Who here wouldnt pay?

Long story short, if it works for you, its worth it. If it doesn't try something else. But to arbitrarily shoot something down because it has a price tag you aren't comfortable with is silly if you haven't tried it.

Different strokes for different folks.

p.s.

My overweight friends here, who call me crazy for spending money on my health have lost tiny amonts of weight 5-10 pounds in the past year. I guess money for pizza and beer is more important than fitness for some. Sad really, but better them than me...

I'm in total agreement with the person who said that this should be free. Yes, I know it's a business but this is a complete promotional tool for their show. I'm sure they take in enough money from advertising, etc that they don't need to be this money hungry. IMO making this free would only make more people watch their show and voila....more revenue! :piggy:
