Does anyone with exspeirience have any helpful information on what exactly do you get when you pay and sighn up for the BIGGEST LOSERS ONLINE?
QUESTIONS My aunt and myself have
Is it pretty much based on the SHOW like the intense workouts, the meals you eat?
Have you done good using the site?
Is it worth the money?
Is the information very useful and satisfied with how the wesite is set up easy to use?
ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED,Me and my aunt thought about giving it a shot for 1 month to see how it works and of course lose weight and have great rescipies on hand?TY TAMMY

I'm not a fan of the show, so I don't know what recipes would be offered...

However, for a service like that, it'd really be no different than Ediets or WW online - services you pay for, what you get out of it, is what you put into it. Some people have more motivation if they are shelling out the dollars for it, but in my opinion, you'd get just as much out of Sparkpeople, and pay yourself... and use that money for a new wardrobe.

Putting out XX dollars a month isn't going to magically help you lose weight unless you're ready to do the work, and eat properly, consistently, and exercise...

I know someone who joined.....

This is what he said about it....

Essentially it is like this group, a support group with the added bonus of having show tested reccomendations offered. They outline the diets used by the different trainers, recipies and work out routines which were effective on the show. Also you get pictures and updates of other members, etc. From he mentioned about it, it is very weight watchers like.

However.

It does cost money, and in the long run, isn't that the same thing we are doing here? Here we have support, recipies, exercise routines and all the other little benefits, however, instead of incorporating everything into one site, sometimes we must follow links to other websites offering helpful and often free services anyways. (fitday.com stands out in my mind)

In my opinion, the only real benefit to the biggest loser online club is the hype. People might be more interested and dedicated I suppose because they believe this is what made it happen for the contestants.

However, it still comes down to the individual. Just paying XX dollars per month doesn't mean you are going to have 4 hours a day to do biggest loser like workouts nor does it provide you with a personal trainer who is in your face pushing you to exceed your own expectations. And though providing recipies and diet plans, they dont come to your house, buy the food and do the cooking for you.....

So in the end, it may be worth it for some to pay the money to get that little "boost" they needed to make the changes, but in the long run, there are many many other free or pay programs that will also work just as well, but it is still the individual that needs to make the changes in themselves....

No website will ever be able to do that.

I have to agree w/ whats being said. I've tried to sign up for a bunch of different websites, do the various diets, blah blah, in the end the ONLY thing thats gonna help loose weight is in your own mindset!

And, although I'm a fan of BL, I can't believe for a second that the biggest looser site is actually worth $20/mth! or if you have for for a year, $240!! no way!

I'm pissed bc it should be FREE...

I'm a fan of the show, but I wouldn't do the on-line club Tammy.. ;)

I got all of the BL materials needed plus the cookbook for $27 at amazon.com

:waving:

Why should it be free? It's a business...

Bc they make tons of money with all the other BL materials and from the show.

If they REALLY want to make a difference, it should be FREE so everyone can join/take part.

I sure can't afford it.

It's not fair to the fans that want to be more involved as well bc of their weight-loss journey but can't bc of a monthly fee.

If anything, they could offer a lot free {exercise tips/nutrition/recipes/etc} and have some other areas for paid members only.

They are doing a Million Pound Challenge for viewers to participate in starting on New Year's Day. Not sure if I can post the link, but if you google it, I am sure you can find it.

As long as I don't have to buy a membership, I think I would like to participate in that. They are offering prizes, from what I understand - perhaps it's an effort to get communities involved so people have local support groups.

Anyway - thought it was salient to this thread :)

God Bless,
mik

Yes, I'm very excited about that as well. :)

Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's free..LOL

I'm thinking it may not be since prizes are involved.

Have you guys tried this Sacred Heart Diet Soup. It's a 7 day diet that is said to make you loose 17 pounds. I never made it to the end. I made it to day 3 and lost 5 pounds though.

Really do spend some time reading around the forum - there's a thread or two on that topic and it's afad diet.. we do not encourage fad diets around here - we do encourage healthy lifestyle changes...

Well, i see both sides here. Mals right, it is a business, they want to make money. Sure some of them really want to help, but more then that, they want money.

BUT I really really think $20/mth is unreasonable. I think either make it free if you purchase the book, some kind of code or something thats inside the book or dvds...OR lower their price to a reasonable one. I'd be willing to pay $40/yr or something, but certainly not $240/yr!

So do you have the sales figures from all the "other materials and the show?" The show is the biggest marketer of these products.

Its always about money, not making a difference. Its run by the shows network, which is CBS right? I dont watch it so I dont know.

Because you "cant" afford it, you complain that it should be free. The price is fair because there are tons of people who DO feel it is that valuable and worth the price. And if someone wants it badly enough, they can find a way to afford 20$ a month.

Lol. Thats why there are other programs out there.

Listen smarty pants, I can have "my own opinion."

As I mentioned clearly:

They could offer some areas for free..Such as recipes - health tips - exercise tips - and so on.
I've been a fan of the show since the first season and they could offer some free stuff for the fans that line their pockets.
If it wasn't for us "the fans," they wouldn't be making any money in the first place.
They could have a paid members section as well and still make tons of money.

You are also wrong re: your last comment.
When you have a family and children are involved, they come first.
$20 a month might as well be $50

Depends on how you look at it. FYI I do have a family and children, but when I see something that help me change our lives for the better, I dont complain about the price because the value is there for me. Maybe not for you, but for me.

They do offer something for free aparently, a show each week.

If you think they could have that, then why dont you go and pitch that idea and make some money.

i joined it, and promptly canceled my membership. the only cool thing on the site was a couple of charts that show you what percentage of your goal you have accomplished and the behind the scenes videos from the show (which have nothing to do with the diet program). basically if you buy the two books you will have exactly what the site has, without the message boards (which aren't so great) and the same 10 interviews with bob harper rephrased 100 different ways.

the meal plans were really hard to customize. i'm a picky eater and the meal plans were so inflexible and hard to swap things out. also the meal plans that it makes would probably cost about a million dollars a week to make, since every day there is a HUGE variety of foods in small amounts, so lots of things go to waste.

ow thaNKS FOR ALL THE OPIONS and I would pay $20 for like 2 months if I knew it would have unlimited information recipies workouts to fit me and my schedule, but then again I wouldn't pay for support like the kind I have hear for free.If it CUSTOMIZED a plan especially for me and my needs and habbits and if I stuck to it like the peeps on the show and lost like they did it would be all worth it.But judging from kandazzle says that isn't the case.So OH well it worth a try I will just stick with what I have been doing,THANKS ALL Tammmy
