Biggest Loser "Couples"

isnt it not healty to lose that much weight in a week? gee if i lost that much in a week id reach my goal in 3 week

First week is mostly water weight. This week they were mostly right around 1% of body weight a week, which isn't unreasonable as an average, even without access to Jillian and Bob.

I was surprised the losses weren't higher like usual. The couple who got sent home was nice, but they did seem more capable of doing it on their own anyway. That yellow team was a damn emotional wreck. They need to get it together!

but that one lady just refuses to concede that what she ate may have contributed to her weight gain this week. She figures those little tiny chocolate pieces should have just distributed themselves around her body with no weight loss. *insert eye roll here*

200 calories of M&Ms wouldn't make a difference on the scale. (Don't believe me? Weigh yourself, eat 40 grams of M&Ms, and weigh yourself again. If your scale is accurate, you're all of 40g heavier - and even if those M&Ms were converted to fat with 100% efficiency, they'd only add 26g of fat!) Jillian is absolutely right - what she was risking was water retention. And I'm guessing that's what she (and several of the other women) got - but that could be hormones as easily as M&Ms.

I couldn't believe the numbers tonight. That is just crazy - you come to expect these insanely huge amounts at the weigh in that when you see something more akin to REAL life ... LOL! I only watched half the show. I thought it was all set up on DVR, but it wasn't recording at all :/ I was all into my new Catherine Coulter smut book I got this afternoon at the Wal :p Gotta love the Sherbrook clan :d

God Bless,
mik

I thought it was entirely possible all the ladies had their TOM ... water gain and all.

why does everyone care whos gay or not..lol....anyways i could not believe the numbers...I would have thought since it was the both of them training it was gonna be big, i guess not!! Hopefully next week! Betty sue is doing great, Neil needs to go home or get with the program, i couldnt believe who they sent home.....even though she gained, i think they worked harder, but then when they got home they looked good (congrats to that) and about the calling cards i would have gave it to the blue team since they finished the challenge..anywho cant wait until next week!!!

Of course 40 grams of M&Ms wasn't responsible for a pound of fat, but they contributed. My point was just that she was refusing to concede that what she ate contributed to the weight gain.

But, they both looked good at home, esp. him. I can't remember their names but I don't know if I believe her claim that she's wearing a size 9 while weighing 175. Maybe if she's 6'4...... Or maybe that's her underwear size.

Sizing runs bigger these days... I'm only 5'9 - but when I hit 175lbs - I should be in a size 10... Im not that far off from being in one now...

I must be buying my clothing at the wrong stores then. I'm 6' tall, weigh 173 pounds and I'm wearing a size 15. :(

I am hoping that I'll be able to wear a 13 when I buy new clothes though....

I'm 6 feet tall, weigh 179 and wear a 16.
You are on target for your size.

Of course there was a time I wore a 10. Those days are ahead for me again.

I guess women's bodies are just different....at 5'9" and 220 I wore a size 16. Now, at 184, I'm in a comfortable 12.

And where on EARTH do you find pants with odd-numbered sizes? The sizes I find are only by 2s....

a 5'9" woman at 220 who wears a 16
and a 6 foot woman at 175 who wears a 16 most likley have the same waist or hips measurment.

The size tags usually say 11/12 or 13/14. I guess I just choose to use the smaller number cuz I like it better. lol

Do you mind if I ask what your measurements are? I'm 42-34-41.

Size 15 is a junior's size, meant for people who have no hips, thighs, or waists. If that doesn't describe you, switch over to misses'.

At this very moment, I'm wearing a pair of size 15 jeans, and they fit me snugly. Yesterday I was wearing a pair of size 12 jeans, which are at least one size too big. So it's entirely possible you could actually be a size 10.

I know it's been said here before but I did want to reiterate that she most likely gained due to a few factors (I don't know if she was having her cycle so I can't comment) but the chocolate thing is HUGE! It is just a great way to add retention weight onto your body. Had she probably been in the house the next week, I bet we would have seen over a 5 lbs loss... I am almost sure we will see that with a few of the women (or even men as well).
