Big Guy checking in

I am looking to lose over all weight and strengthen up. My main goal is endurance with moderate lift ability with little bulk. I want to be strong but I dont want to look huge. I am down to 245#s from my heaviest of 270#s about 3 years ago. The lowest I have gotten is 232#s. I never really felt that I had met my goal as I still had a gut and couldnt last at aerobic type activity for as long as I wanted to. I am 6' tall and my goal is to get down to 200#s or slightly less.

any help is much appreciated...

Welcome to the forum !

- Anything you can tell us about your diet ?

- Do you belong to a gym ?

- What's your time frame for getting down to " 200#s or slightly less " ?

I live out in the country and dont have regular access to a gym. My goal is to get the weight off by July or sooner in time for a trip I am taking. I have been trying to modify my diet from a lot of fried foods to more green on my plate. I make a point to have half my plate covered in salad and I am gradually trying to reduce the portions of starches and fatty meats. Exercises I can do with logs or rocks are beneficial since I dont have regular access to a weight set and I am going to start walking, jogging, running as I can build up to it.

Thanks,

Big Guy

Hi. I am actually new to this forum also. Your post caught my attention because I have a friend 6' and close to your weight. He has a difficult time with cardio as well. He is a professional karate instructor and in very good shape. He can't sustain a run longer than a mile and a half. He is simply a big guy that has to move a lot of weight. His cardio comes in the form of kettlebells (weights and cardio combined) and bike riding. If either of these things are available to you, you might want to give it a try. I personally love the kettlebells also. You do a lot of swings and body movement while building muscle.
