Bicycle workout

My question is what exact muscles and areas or fat will be worked out and burned when using a bicycle?

I used to sell stationary bikes and found they are crap, unless you're starting out with it but best to move toward a moving bike.

Anyways my main goal is to get rid of body fat around my stomach and especially the fat above my belt line.
Thats the most difficult spot I seam to have. Any suggestions on doing so?

You don't work an 'area of fat' it all comes off gradually.

Muscles used are:

- Quadriceps
- Some Bicep Femoris (hamstring)
- Calve
- Some Gluteus maximus

If you use toeclips, then some lower abs as well.

The bike'll kick your ass fast. The first time I got mine out, I went once around the block and when I got off, I almost fell because my legs were so rubbery.

I find that riding a bike is a great form of exercise, I go out and start exploring, and before I know it an hour has gone by, It seems less like exercise, and more like fun! You can stand up and really get your heart rate pumping, and you're getting aerobic intervals. Great calorie expenditure!

I basically pedal with the ball of my foot, will that use the same purpose vs. those pedals?
